If we have any problem with our partner it's better we face it. According to me relation grows strong when we discuss our pros n cons directly with our partner. Third person interference makes it worse. If the person whom you have a problem with come to know that you are the one who asked third person to mediate he/she may think you both don't have strong relationship and feel bad. And the other thing exactly we don't know how the third person is mediating. Sometimes because of jealous or other reasons they may speak bad back of you instead helping you. So it's better to solve on your own.

A relationship is always best handled when only the people concerned are involved. But sometimes we tend to see only what we inted to and no matter how many times we talk over , the neutral ground stays at the horizon. Be sure to sure a third person who is not related or in any way closer to either, that makes the opinion biased. Choose some anonymous friend liek mylotters for they get the whole new picture and can bring certain realisations which might be new to you and also acceptable as you are sure of their unbias nature. Hence , be careful to have a third party if needed but they are not a curse always.
