I just heard on the news today that the NBN ZTE project will be pushed through by the Aquino government. It will be renamed GBN (Government Broadband Network). For me It really doesn’t matter what projects they come up with for as long as it will benefit everybody. For as long as it will not put our countrymen into disadvantage. And that not just a few government official will benefit from it. I am confident in the Aquino Administration that they will be able to deliver. That it will be a clean transaction and no few people will get rich from it.

What would be the meat of this deal? Are we gettin cheaper internet and the government will subsidize it?

I believe it's the government getting it's own internet network for all it's agencies. Instead of each agency paying for it's own internet subscription.

Yeah, and this time around, hope there would be more transparency when it comes to our government deals since it's all our money anyway. They should get the lowest bid in government undertakings instead of who can give the highest amount to whoever is tasked to approve a deal. Yeah we need a government broadband network badly so we won't be left behind.

I just hope that we won't be sucked in another web of controversy regarding this same old broadband deal. The country is already tired of these same issues going on and on and on and nothing is being done about them. If this indeed will benefit the country then I fully support this.

I agree with you. This project is much needed to ensure efficient and fast public services from the government agencies. I just hope this time around, the people who will take care and make this project possible will learn lessons from the past and corruption will have no hands on this.

I am confident to the Aquino Administration too. I hope also that everyone can benefit with it not just let our fellow countrymen and our very own country went down.. and not let those corrupt officials get their pockets full.
