I think the quality problems are very serious nowadays! I bought my second cellphone about 2 years ago,but half a year later I had to dump one of the two original cells to the phone because it was swollen! And never did I think that I found the other one swole so big and it pushed open the back cover of the phone just as I wanted to go to work yesterday afternoon! So I had to buy a new cell for my phone. But at my office one of my officemates said I was so lucky that I hadn't confronted a cell explosing!!!

I have never heard of that happening. I think I would just get a whole new phone and put the sim card over. You are right about there being quality problems with most products these days. Most of the time, the item goes kaput right after the end of the warranty period. I hope all is well now! Happy New Year!!!

Yes, I think that companies have started making things with lesser quality so that you have to replace them more often. I just hope that my purchase of an apple computer will stop that from happening to me again. I guess that you get what you pay for. If you go for something cheap, you can expect it to fall apart in a short time (sometimes before the end of the warranty period if you are lucky).

As we know, most of us have habits of not being hard on our items, but many things that we're using can be easily in bad condition because of their quality. So I wonder if they keep their companies going by doing that?!Happy New Year, too!

When I bought my existing Nokia cellphone ,It had two cells with it.One bore Nokia anti-fake label, the other didn't have that on it and looked bad.Sure enough I had used the former for near two years before it was out of shape. The latter had to be scrapped less than half a year. Now the cell that I use is counterfeit product which is cheaper than genuine one.

Oh no Oldsix691418, it's really dreadful if confronting any cell explosion. We are advised to switch off our phone while we are at the gas station. Such cases did happen several times in my place Yeah, it's true that nowadays the new bought cell phone is not that durable as those we had bought before. I had replaced the old one that I had been using for less than a couple of years, just because the calling button couldn't serve its purpose nicely. I had to press hardly or several times it then worked. Before this old one the battery of the older phone needed to be charged daily therefore I dumped it in the closet Happy posting

That's quite fine,I think.A cheap cellphone didn't cost you a big sum,and you don't have to care so much about it even though it's lost.My cellphone is a cheap one,and I never spend too much money on my tools.

I'm using an Iphone now and i won't face that problem yet. IN the case of my other phones, i've only one cell per phone, and i've seen nothing of such happenings though i heard it happening to my friends. I wonder what makes a cell swollen, due to high usage, or it being too old? It could also be due to fake cells, leading to explosions like what your friend mentioned.

Wow,you can use an Iphone!I'm so jealous. You are really lucky you have never encountered the same things.I don't know why my phone batteries got swollen, they said product quality can cause it,or battery's overcharging. As for a cell explosion,I haven't seen one though they told me that.

I have never tried buying a battery for my phone. I had a battery and it was 5 years old. During that whole time, it wasn't damaged or broken so I never bought a battery. But after six years of using that mobile phone, it suddenly broke. So I had to buy a new one, and I just throw that very old phone away.

LOL six and this one from me is funny because I use to be so brutal with cell phones that the batteries use to outlast the phones themselves. lol So not often friend and usually end up getting a new one before the life time of the battery wears out. One important reason why I use to have insurance on all my cell phones. lol

Haha,if not you never call yourself "hardworkinggurl",you used your phones so often to help with your work that they were worn out, lol! So you belong to the fewer people who have cellphone insurance, lol!

I am lucky because I got my Nokia cellphone for almost half the price since I bought the model one year after people had grown tired of it and there are new models out there to toy with. I am more practical in my approach to the use of cellphone like some people because I do not collect and buy new ones every time there is a new model. As long as I can send sms messages, call and take pictures I am contented with my cellphone. After this one breaks I will buy a locally launched brand which is good since I bought one for my daughter early this year and it has cool features with the affordable price tag.

You are lucky that you have a cheaper and durable cellphone.Yes,many people change their mobilephones as long as there are new models, but I don't like doing so unless my phone doesn't work well.

Your office mate is right that you are lucky that your phone didn't explode because of the defective battery. Good batteries can stand as long as two days not being charged. Maybe yours wasn't an original battery, or it could just be a China made one, which is known to be of lower quality than the branded ones.

Yes,it didn't explode. But both of the two batteries were original ones, and they were made in China, too.Do all the goods made in China have quality problems? But I use China-made mobile phones all the time!

Interesting. We've been lucky I guess. We've never had any problems with our cellphones. We've had 2 different types and have never experienced any issues. I sure hope you have our luck with your new phone. Best Wishes!

I'm so glad that you haven't encountered the things of that kind, and I'm also glad that neither of the batteries exploded in front of me.And I hope my new cell will never have the same problem as those two.

NEVER, but never i change my cell from my phone. I have 16 years and until now I had 3 mobile phones, a Siemens that haven't colors, only black and the background of screen, the second phone was a Nokia 6085 which I can say that was good. Now I have a Samsung Wave 525 and it's awesome.

Oh,all the batteries of them are very durable,so you haven't had to change their cells even once, that's quite good though you are not very pleased with your Samsung Wave 525.Good luck!

I don't buy cellphone when my present one is still good. I don't go for the latest models of cellphones in town. My present cellphone is 2 years old and is still serving me well except the battery has worn out and need to replace a new one. I've heard of cellphones battery exploding.

I don't like often changing my tools, either as long as they are in good condition and never like going with the tide,I even always use cellphones made in China instead of foreign ones.I think we have to be careful of battery exploding since it's dangerous.Good luck!

I'm not quite sure what you are talking about when you refer to replacing cells to your phone. I've had to replace a battery before.. is that what you are talking about? I have an iphone now, and I notice the battery doesn't last very long.

As all I know,we also call "mobilephone" as "cellphone",right?Yes,I'm complaining about the batteries of my mobilephone, they didn't last long at all, luckily they never got me in danger!

I believe you are right,I used to have my mobilephone charged during the night and never noticed the time till I woke up the next morning.I think I'd better be more careful of charging my cellphone so that it can be more durable.
