Last night I found one of my discussions was deleted, and by now two of mine have been dumped.I can remember that one was about drinking tea and the other was about complaining about not receiving posting notifications from the myLot. The two postings of mine really took me some labouring, but I can never stop them from deleting. What about you?

The first thing to do is to make sure that you completely understand the Guidelines: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx You should read them frequently until you do. In your case, it may be especially important to understand what is meant by a "poll type" question. GoAskAlice has put a more complete description on his profile here: http://www.mylot.com/GoAskAlice There were already scores of discussions about the problems with MyLot not updating and the FAQs specifically tell us not to post discussions about such things but to contact Admin if we seem to have a problem. You can either use the 'Contact' link at the bottom of the page (and choose 'Other' from the dropdown) or you can send a PM to GoAskAlice (he doesn't need to be on your Friends list for you to do this). Nearly everyone here has either had one of their discussions deleted or has posted a response in a discussion which was deleted. It is one of those things which is liable to happen from time to time. It does NOT affect your MyLot Reputation or your earnings (apart from the fact that cents may be deducted when posts are deleted) but, if you repeatedly ignore the Guidelines and Admin perceives that you don't appear to be learning from the Notifications that you receive about your discussions being removed, then you WILL be liable to be banned without warning. This does not happen, though, to people who generally observe the rules here!

Oh,thank you so much,Owlwing!I've read those guidelines, but I don't think I've rememberd many,so I can't avoid more or less postings of mine will be deleted. Yes,some of my responses have been deleted since the discussions posted by the other myLotters were deted, and I know that's normal things. As for the lost cents,I never care too much. Thanks for your help.Good luck!

It happens from time to time and since I don't have repeated patterns of them I don't really get upset. I can understand when you say that they took a bit of work to create, however if they fall against what the guidelines say we can not do then sadly they do get deleted. We learn from mistakes and continue participating, for me it really is not a great loss as it is not money I have yet received so I don't find the deductions to be of great loss. What I found helpful is that anytime there were deletions, I would open the email in one tab and the guidelines in another, that way I can distinguish where my error was. I think with your two topics; one was a repeat of the several that were already created, so important to search the search bar to check before we do start topics, as well as remember that if something is of concern with myLot that we do not start topics and contact Admin directly. With the other one it appears it could be a duplicate as well, and or a poll type of discussion. I would suggest you check the email notification that way you can re-phrase the topics to not gear towards breaking the guidelines. But don't worry Six, you are not alone and we all learn eventually. Good luck and asking how many in this discussion also appears to me as if it can be perceived as a survey/poll type discussion. At any rate you may get our responses via email and find them helpful.

Hehe,no one can avoid making mistakes,of course it's better to obey the guidelines well. Yes,I'd better make sure what I've posted will bring me what I want instead of loss. Wow,you are really a careful gurl! But I really didn't mind the guidelines too much,I'll learn from you. Ok,I'll listen to you. Thank you for all your help and encouraging,I'll be more careful of what I'll post and try my best to avoid my posting to be deleted.Have a nice day!

I have lost two or three to deletion. I hope that we all can learn from this and remember that we need to fashion our discussion topics as just that- discussions and not polling questions. If we check back over it before we post I think we can save alot of them. Discussions are formed differently than a plain polling question. Keep our eye on the topic.

After being at mylot for a while I have found out that you just have to move on after a post being deleted. When I was a newbie, I had more posts deleted. Now mostly it is because I answer someone´s post that gets deleted. I take my risks with newbies, telling them to read mylot´s rules.

I know that newbies get confused, specially since many are drawn to mylot thinking that it´s just another site where they will earn quick money. It´s not. It´s a social site and to earn some, you have to follow the rules of the site. Happy posting and thanks for giving me a best response

You are really one of the practised myLotters and you can give more help to the newbies so that they cannot make the same mistakes that we have confronted in case they have to get confused about their deletions.

Luckily, I never got my discussions deleted. It because I only made 2 discussions up to now . Maybe if I make a lot of discussion, there's a bigger chance of one or two of my discussions being deleted. It is a little bit hard to fully implement the guidelines, though. Sometimes, we may missed one thing or two.. I got MUCH of my responses deleted because the discussions it was under being deleted. If I can fully understand and implement the guidelines, then I wouldn't give a response on a discussion that will deleted later. But I have to say, the more my responses getting deleted, the more I am being aware with myLot guidelines.. Experience is the best teacher, though.. :)

If this discussion is being deleted, then I think I failed (again) to fully implement the guidelines xD. And yeah, I only started two discussions up to now. For me, creating a discussion is not really an easy thing to do, though..

I cannot remember all the guidelines, and don't care them too much,I just express my thoughts here as long as there is a proper topic for me. If you don't want your responses to be deleted, then maybe you just respond to all the discussions listed on the myLot digest every day to be on the safe side.

this is my first time! i had one discussion deleted. a discussion about my complains of having no earnings in mylot which i posted last week. i feel bad about it because my ranking moved down too. this is so sad. next time that i would write a discussion i should see to it first that my discussion have followed the guideline. this is a lesson we really have to keep in mind always when writing in mylot.

But sometimes we always complain about something, that's normal.I don't think such discussions should be deleted as long as the complaining is reasonable.

yes, that is true. but i guess they have it deleted because it is a negative remark about this site and i have obviously i have break the rules or guidelines in starting a discussion.

I don't post many so I haven't been deleted. I think that's odd that your posts are being deleted. I don't know how to stop that.

That's normal since there are posting guidelines and my postings were against some of the guidelines.Of course both you and my can never stop that unless we memerize all the guidelines.Good luck!

So, far, only one of my discussions have been deleted, and it was one where I asked which group is better, Beatles or Rolling Stones, maybe they found it too much "confrontive" or something like that, I respect that position but I dont think so. I have noticed that if the discussion is kind of controversial they tend to delete it.

Since we are not sure when one or two of our discussions will be deleted,we'd better never think if it'll be deleted, what we do is just let them be and just type what we want to say.

I think that I might have had a couple deleted at the very beginning. Stupid rookie mistakes, they tend to really occur a lot of the time when you're new and don't have the guidelines completely burned to memory as of yet. Oh well, live and learn. They got deleted, I learned from my mistakes, everything is really going to turn out mostly for the best. It has been ages since I have had a discussion deleted and I am thankful for that. I think that the fact that I rarely post any discussions on an impulse without thinking about them really helps but that is not really a sure fire thing to say the very least. Still it has been a while and I am thankful for that. Still stupid rookie mistakes at the beginning tainting my record. I don't remember what discussions were deleted however, it was a long time ago.

I agree.Sometimes the mistakes that we made really make us learn a lot.I'm sure almost all of the myLotters confront being deleted and then they would become more careful.

When I just started in mylot, the deletion of my new discussions were very often. After going through those suffering period, it is very hard for my new discussions to be deleted again. In my advise, we should seriously treat our deleted discussions for not repeating again. This is to prevent our account from being suspended or deleted later. When a discussion was deleted, for sure this discussion was violating the rules of mylot. For instance, a repeated topic of a discussion will definitely be deleted. Before starting any new discussion, we shall search through the discussion column to ensure no one started the same topic earlier.

Hehe, since you are familiar with the guidelines you can avoid more deletions. I just post what I want to say here and never check if there are too many same topics because I have my own ideas about the same things.

I have seen quite a few being deleted by mylot, most of the mare concerning notifications from mylot. I don't know why are they being deleted, but i do feel for the starters of them. They are merely asking and sharing and i don't think it's a violation of mylot guidelines right? It's been months since i last started any so i'm spared from the deleting.

There must be different reasons for the deleted discussions but for me I never care that kind of things too much.I've not started too many discussions so my deleted discussions are still fewer.

I have been here for two and half months. I never paid attention the discussion that got deleted, it was because I was too excited and spirit to participate on myLot. I made a lot of discussion and comment every day, but I don't know how many discussions were deleted. I am aware of the discussion by reading carefully and understandably, so to make sure my comments are not deleted as well. Perhaps, there might be a lot of discussion are deleted of mine here on myLot. Thank You

Yes,as long as we can express our ideas here by posting,we don't have to mind too much if our postings will be deleted,of course we had better not copy the postings from someone else.

I have some dleted discussions the reasins they give is that some are poll or gambling discussions, some are repeated because somebody made the same discussion before me. But what I do now is to search if somebody did the same discussion before me, and try to write my ideas in a better way that they don't look like gambling.

I cannot give you the exact figure but as far as my memory is concerned 2 or 3 discussions started by me have probably been deleted. But a good number of my responses to topics started by others have been deleted. Here also I am helpless to provide you with the exact figure.

21 Nov 11
Of course I don't want you to provide me the exact figure,I just wnat to know if you have experienced the similar things. What you told me shows that any mylotters will confronted such things sooner or later.

I never had any discussion deleted. I didn't started too many but none of them has been deleted so far. I think it is better to check for repeated discussions before starting a new one. The last week many discussions were deleted due to duplicated topics. Why was your discussion deleted? Do you know the answer? I mean, did the notification said what was the reason of deletion?

Oh,you are so lucky and you are careful enough,I think I had better pay more attention to the myLot guidrlines than before. I really don't know the reasons that my discussions were deleted and I don't want to know the answer,of course the notifications never told me why.Thank you for your help and good luck with you!
