admit it, watching television has taken a large portion of our time, you watch t.v when you wake up in the morning to watch news or morning programs even when you eat your breakfast, then watch noon program while eating lunch, afternoon programs goes with soap operas and different drama tv movies..next you'll be hooked to primetime programs and news...and before you laid down to bed its t.v that made you sleep...such addiction to t.v is universal and most homes, restaurant and even commuter buses have them..t.v in the living room, t.v in the rooms, t.v in the kitchen and sometime there's a t.v even in the bathroom..we're all hooked up to watching television...as if we can't live without television...how about you, can you live without tv set?

Honestly, i think i can't live without TV anymore. I enjoy watching soaps at night as well as other shows and it's one form of our relaxation. Husband and i gets to bond, watching TV before we finally go to sleep. Like you said, i need it to watch the news even just the evening news. It's one form of entertainment i can;t live without .

That's true. I can attest to that. We get to laugh and share our views just watching those shows. Mostly, we would watch gag shows, so we could laugh and be happy before finally going to sleep.

CHER913..... I love the history shows. Loved Victorian Farm and such like. I love to read history novels as well. It is a good way to learn from and to watch shows as a family and then discuss what you have learnt. We always watch Emmerdale as a family

Yes I can live without my television. People who come to our house will be very shocked that I have said yes because our TV is on anawful lot of the day. But I use it as background noise and have it on like the radio. I am always doing something while tv is on, I do stip and listen/watch when something comes on that i want to listen to, but I would do that to the radio as well. The daytime shows are really good, like the chatting ones you can learn a lot from them as well. So if you came and took my tv away from me it wouldn't be the end of my world and I don't think I would be upset i would just think more, sing to myself and prob enjoy the peace and quite

I do agree life does seem to be lacking without them, we need to retrain our minds to do some things from the past.

Oh, of course, I can surely live without television. I hardly watch telelvision these days. I am having busy days this past few weeks. It is good that my housemate, or compoundmate is more appropriate, talks to me about the things featured in tv as regards the news updates. Typhoons and heavy rains keep coming these days and such information is most valuable as it guides me as to when will be the best times to stay home or go for a quick visit to the grocery store.

and that because you are busy...and the fact that we find tv our source of info make it somehow an important media to get information.. thanks for the quick response

tv is a very good source of getting info, its there just at a tick and everyone has one and you can easily see one in the shop windoes as well turned on

I’m and addict and I know it. The thing is because I am home alone I tend to have the TV on as background noise and use it as a distraction because without it I would most likely spend the whole time staring at a PC screen. But the irony is a few years ago when I had to spend a week in hospital and of course didn’t have TV I didn’t miss it. In fact I found the break refreshing and worked my way through several books in that week. But now I just switch it on in the morning and have it on for most of the day.
@Anne18 (11029)

Apart from the hospital bit I can agree with you all the way.

Yes, sure I can live without it. I don't watch prime time soap opera or any entertain shows so,it's not a big thing for me. I can watch and rad news from internet and using my laptop. I can also watch movies using my laptop. Actually, our tv sets becomes a props at home since my kids are also busy with their studies and wants to play games in their computers when they have spare time. have a good day
@Anne18 (11029)

You are correct because if we miss anything on tv and haven't recored it then you can find it online. A friend of mine doesn't have a tv due to the price of the license and watches everything he wants to watch through the pc

Yes, definitely. I am not a big watcher of tv anyway, so I don't think I would have a lot of issues with that. I watch news and maybe one tv show a week, two at most. I simply do not have time to watch more of it!

Yes, I live without television. If I want to know the latest news, I can search through internet. News on the internet the same as on television. I prefer the internet than on television, because every day I work at the front of a computer. It does not matter me to live without a television sets.

Hi! I think nowadays it is really not easy to live without a television. But come to think of it our ancestors were able to do it and some people living in the mountains are able to survive without it. That is why I think I can live without it.

I guess I can live without television. I cannot live without internet I don't open my television much these days. I don't have any favorite shows or series. I sometimes open it if I am alone at home and it's so quiet. I will open it as my background while surfing the internet.

I am #18 in watching television, so clearly I'm a dedicated television watcher. There are several shows I would really miss, if there wasn't a television in my house. Yes, I'll admit could watch them online, but really enjoy my large screen television to watch The Amazing Race.

I could live easier without music than without television, and I love music with all my heart and listen to it all the time. I can't explain the experiences I've had with television. I know how some people can view it and think it just dulls you're mind but for me it does the opposite. TV shows and film has shaped me to be who I am, and I've learned so much. It can take my mind anywhere and really allows me to feel creative and it's the one thing in the world that makes sense to me at times. There's comedy, horror, drama, dramady's, reality guilty pleasure shows, I have so many TV shows that I love with all my heart and am never happier then when I'm watching them.

tv programs is really shaping the mind of todays generation and it depends to the choices and interest of the viewer on what they will watch or follow from all of these tv shows and programs..for me news from this media is the best, you got a view and information of what really happen...

Quite honestly, I think I can live without television now. Sure, I enjoy watching my shows like House, MythBusters, Family Guy, and CSI. But Now I can just catch those online with sites like Hulu or if I REALLY love the show, I would just buy the DVDs at a later date. When it comes to the news, I sincerely like to read about it instead unless it's something like Seattle's latest super hero Phoenix Jones. When I lived with my parents, there was a television set in just about every room. Even now, there is a television in every room but the kitchen and bathroom of course. Yet even with that, I don't normally care to watch T.V. Everyone I know is usually playing games or are online like blogging, chatting, and numerous of other things.
