I am sure many people have a facebook account. I am no exception. Since most of my family and friends have an fb account and not wanting to be left out I too tag along. From the beginning I was never a fan of fb as I don't find anything interesting there that can make me stay longer than 15 minutes before I turn bored. Unlike mylot I can spend endless hours and still enjoy my time here.
Today, I did find an interesting topic in fb and responded to it until it accumulated to few comments. Since fb has small space capacity to hold many responses I invited one of the responder to join mylot as she seemed to love writing and reading. I gave her the link to this site and without hesitation she signed up with mylot. I am happy to be able to pinch one of fb member to join mylot. Please welcome Joshee82 to mylot.

I am on facebook but not active there. I prefer here. I will be on the lookout for Joshee82 and make sure she is welcome here. I think it is terrific that you have gotten her to join us.

Facebook is for quick notes and replies but Mylot is for intelligent discussions! Long live Mylot!

Very well-spoken! That's why I prefer myLot. Except most of my family and friends only share pictures and links and don't talk very much, so the chances of getting them here are slim.

Wow, your response got me! With that I feel like I belong to the intelligent group.
Facebook is nothing but more one posting pictures and sharing what they personally feels everyday. None were intelligently discussed unlike mylot.

zandi458,
Undeniably, FaceBook currently is the number one social networking site and with the majority being on it, it would not be wise to be left out here. As you can see at your end, with your family members and friends being on it - you will be out of touch if you do not hop on the bandwagon here.
Congratulations on getting a referral here.

Hi Zandi, i do discovered that my family members and relatives are all interested to spend more time in Facebook since from years ago. As for myself, i am more hooked to Mylot and other earning sites, since i like to hang around with my same wave members. I am not the type that like to spend their time in Facebook, chatting nonsense things. For me, i think it is a waste of time and electricity. After all, the prices of electricity had gone high recently in our country.

I also have a lot of friends as well as family that are on face book, but it gets boring after a while of being on there, as it is the same old things that are going on, also the same sorts of games that i also get bored of after a short while. It seems that there are a lot of people that go on there tend to just go on the chat bit now, rather than putting a status up.

I think Facebook is a great place to socialize in the sense that you get to keep in touch with people you already know in person. However, it's not a great site for meeting new people or for discussing interesting topics.
I really like Xanga too, even though it's kind of an obsolete site. There are a lot of interesting blog entries there!
I'm new to MyLot, and I do like the fact that you get paid per post. That said, I wish the quality of the writing was a little better, but it does make sense since a lot of the writers have English as a second language.

The social sites in the virtual world come in different styles but mylot is still unique in the sense that this site attract like-minded people who have the interest in writing and sharing their views collectively. Well, we can't expect journalistic writings here since mylot is far reaching and people from around the globe are free to join regardless of their proficiency in the English language. The good thing is mylot is accommodative to everyone without any restrictions. The originality of individual views is what matters most.

Not Really. I have a facebook account. I quite like it, but there is often not a lot of interest. I guess its away of keeping on contqact with friends. sometimes we pass messages on. I don't like the very small chat box.
My facebook account is mainly about a particular theme, although my friends can post whatever they like.
some post really good photos.

I have a facebook account too and like you I don't make comments there as much as I do in mylot. I just check to see where and what people are doing and then I sign out. Maybe because it's too public for me. I like the anonimity here in mylot, although I use my real name here. Also because here in mylot you are most welcome to join any topics whether you know them or not unlike in facebook you cannot just comment on any topic if you don't really know the person that much.

i would agree that facebook is the best place for socializing in the virtual world. but i still believe that it's not the best place to share all the feelings we have. it's still mylot which is the best place for me. i could have shared my feelings on facebook but not completely. unlike on mylot, i can give my best.

I have a facebook too - of course - who doesn't? It's not my favorite site to socialize on just because I feel like for a lot of people, it's a popularity contest. And also, the fact is that no one is anonymous on facebook. And sometimes it helps, when really discussing things, for there to be a level on anonymity involved - just so you feel comfortable getting everything off your chest and even getting second opinions. Everything is also so darn PUBLIC on facebook - unless you're in a personal chat or whatever it's called - if you're not, you can bet that at least a few other people are reading what you wrote. That's why if I have to seriously talk to my friends or family, you can bet I won't do it over FACEBOOK where the whole entire world has access to it. I hate that.

I deleted my facebook account about a month ago. I'm not missing it, I was on there less than a year anyway. It seems to amplify people's bad points - if someone is a bit attention seeking and childish in real life they'll turn into a bratty drama queen on facebook!
I found I was knocking so many people off my feed that there was no point to it at all.
Also, people get really weird if you won't add them on facebook. I don't share every single thing about me with everyone I meet - I'm not interested in most of their lives either.
Oh, and the other thing was the passive-aggresive cryptic postings about "some people" so they could get lots of "oh, what's wrong?" attention rather than dealing with whatever the problem was. Life's too short for that kind of playground antics!

That is exactly what I see in facebook. People are only wasting their time posting nonsensical comments there and posting personal pictures inviting a lot of comments that doesn't make sense. I think fb is only good for those who like to gossip which they assumed as healthy socializing in this virtual world.

I do have my facebook but as the same with the other people here, I don't think that it is the best. I offers a lot to the people but the drastic change to its application was not good to those who loves the old version. I am happy now at myLot. I could also gain new friends and know new things.

I think for me Facebook is not the best place to socialize. Many of my friends are the one I always met in school and the rest are my relatives. I'm just happy seeing pictures and get updated from their activities but more on insecurities. Until i found Mylot where i can express myself and make more friends outside. And more especially i can share my opinion in every discussion. I would love to meet joshee82 and be my friend.

I find it is a great way for me to keep in touch with friends and family who don't live near me. Just tonight I was talking to one of my best friends, who lives in Michigan USA, while I live in Ontario Canada. We started chatting under one of her status messages, and though it was reading, rather than vocal, it was very interactive, and fun. I have been on Facebook for years, I'm used to it, and I love it.

I personally feel as though facebook is a great way to stay connected in the world, but I do not believe it is the best place for socializing in a virtual world or in the world for that matter. I feel like facebook has actually held us back some. People are now more likely to post on someone's facebook wall or send them a facebook message than pick up the phone to call them which I think is a shame. As far as the virtual world, I think that other message boards or messaging services are more efficient and just all around better to socialize with people. Facebook has become this weird anomaly and there are tons of games on it now. With the ever-changing nature that it has at the moment, I do not see it being something that truly can last through the test of time. I think it's more likely to go the route of myspace.

It is one of the top social networking site at the moment. As long as there are still people subscribing to this site, it will remain solidly intact. But like all other social sites before, it will slowly phase out when a new one with more interesting features come into existence.
