Why we are not immportal !?

I've been in bead this late evening and a question came up in my mind. Why we are not immortal ? hm, I can't really answer that question but our skin get's old and most importantly our engine ( The Heart ). If we find a way to beat oldness that's the formula for immortality ! It would be nice to be immortal, you will have the chance to visit all the countries and learn, learn ! You have all the time in the world. You can spare more time with your family and friends because now, hm now life is short you can't enjoy all of it :( ! There is a technology (Nano technology or something ) Which can renew cells and our life's could be longer that way.
What do you think about it ?

If we are immortal, then world would be no more by this time.. we will fight ourselves and die without anything...

I am in support of a technology that will extend our life to at least an extra 50 or 100 years. However, i am against leaving forever. It is better all human die and new babies take over from us. We should help to decongest the earth by dying and not leaving forever.

Why it won't occur to you, maybe staying alive a long time, it is a suffering process from day by day. We all knew that nature won't allow us to live longer than 100 to 120 years. When you got old, it is part of suffering process, and who would want that. At least I won't want that from me. Take it as part of our life, because it is short, we need to enjoy every moment of it, and we need to treasure everyone around us.

It would be great to be immortal..like you said we`ll have enough time to see the whole world and learn,learn..But imagine if everyone are immortal and new babies keep coming.There won`t be enough place and food for everyone.I think it`s better live you life no matter how long is it instead of living forever.

I don't agree with the last sentence. When we become so many, there will be a lot of scientists right ? They will think of something. I mean they would think of something like in the movies, we can live for instance in the oceans/seas or in space ! There is always a solution. Imagine so many people, so many different imaginations and thinking. Imagine this !

Take a look on the bible and you'll see that says that GOD is tired of us that was at the begining of the times so imagine what can he thinks after passing 3000 millions of years from the universe existence so it also says that men were used to to live until the age of 960 until GOD said that he won'l last in the heart's men forever. Take a look at the old testament first pages But it would be great if we were able to live a whole eternity good luck

It would be interesting to be an immortal.We are not because of our body structure, our organs etc.Our heart gets tired of beating all the time and like a technology device, it will just stop or break(this means a heart disease).Also to mention that there are so many factors that influence our health-enviroment, stress etc.For example when we get very angry a lot of brain cells die in a second :D But we don't know what to expect from the future...Maybe in 50 years immortality will be possible.
