I don't know what to do, about 20 days I purchased a book at abebooks.uk. The estimated delivery date was about October 7. However, it was already Oct 11 and I had no news about it, so I decided to request a refund. Today I received my stuff early, as well as the refund I had asked to be issued 2 days ago. What should I do ? Should I tell the seller that I received my book after all, and give him the money back (de-refund)? Please, tell me what to do, I know it's unethical to do so.
Though, I'm also aware it's not completely my fault, and it's kind of my right to be refunded. Like the pizzas slogan "15 minutes or it0s free2. Plus those companies do not lose money either, do they ? I guess it's not such a big deal for them. Bu yet, I feel guilty, because Abebooks is a site for independent seller, and this kind of things do affect them and make them lose money. Do you think it's so bad to keep both, the money and the book ? I feel terribly guilty.

Guilt is for Catholics, but on a more serious note you should do whatever puts your mind at ease. I'm sure most people wouldn't mind keeping both and you have to keep in mind that companies take things like this into consideration and allow room in the budget for it. You could always read the book and then send it back, but that's a guilt trip as well.

Okay, lets put this is some sort of perspective. You ordered the book, it arrived late and in the interim, you asked for a refund because you thought you were not going to get the book. Now, you have a few options here, option number 1 - Send the book back stating that it came late and you already received your refund and no longer want the book. Option number 2 - Call the company, tell them what happened, tell them you really want the book and offer them the money back. Option number 3 - Keep both the money and the book. People do that all the time. If it were me, I would pick option number 2. Thats just how I am. I do not believe something for nothing. I am an honest person as I am sure you are. But you have to do what is right for you.

I would give the seller back the money if I were you. If you feel guilty about it then it means you care about honesty and that's a good thing. Remember that you actually got the book for free and it's like you were even got paid for it. That doesn't sound right does it? Well it's still up to you. Good luck!
