Squidoo, can you really earn?

I created 5 lens on my Squidoo lens. But I checked the earning statistic, all are $0
I did some promoting on SquidU forum, and has plenty of likes, like 30+
Can we earn by creating more lens? like 100+lens inorder to earn money? Or am I doing it the wrong way. Because my lens is lack of promoting

Of course, you can earn from Squidoo. It's just a matter of how much. I have yet to explore the potentials of Squidoo. I really do not have the time to do much writing there. It's more fun than writing an article and I find it a more creative means to expressing myself as you can add a lot of fun modules like polls and stuff.
I only have 3 lenses there and earning about $1 every few months. 
By writing more lenses, there is also a higher chance of earning. Promoting helps too. But writing good content is important here in Squidoo.

Wow, You only have 3 lens but you earn 1$ per month?
I have 5 lens But I earned nothing, not even a cent even thought I have 30 + likes and ranked in 63,410 in one of my lens.

er.. It's $1 every FEW months, not every month actually. I don't think the number of likes matter that much. I never promoted my lenses. I created them and left them be. I'm surprised it's earning some money. Initially, the payment setting was to donate to an organization and I was wondering how come I'm not getting anything. Later I realised the payment was not given out to me.
I'm hoping to write a few more lenses. But I need to find interesting and fun topics to write to excite me and my audience.

I'm gonna save you a ton of time. And I'm not just guessing, I've tried Squidoo and know how it works. If you're trying to earn from Squidoo, don't expect much from their "revenue share" program. You could earn far more with your eyes closed on other sites. But if you will use Squidoo to write informative content, and then weave in some of your own good paying affiliate programs that you may be a member of, then this is the way that you can make Squidoo pay off for you.

I can earn more with other site besides Squidoo? Like what?
Hubpages? I heard of it but I never try it. Would you mind explaining this "I can earn more with my eyes closed" site?

Thank you, I have 5 lens. When I see my earning didn't increase for a month, I feel sad and doubt Squidoo for a moment.
