This will be our first time in 9 years we have spent Christmas with family. We have always lived in a different state. The military moved us to the same state as family, but 8 hours away which is nothing. So we have decided to take my husbands precisou leave time and see them for Christmas. I am dreading this. My parents are divorced and his family isnt. So we have to split two days between three familys and their already traditions. One family member we refuse to see and hopefully she will have moved by than. I just dont know how to make this work so everyone is happy, including ourselves. I have thought about leaving Christmas eve so we are in our own home for Christmas. We will have visited family for about 5 days. Why does Christmas have to be so stressful when dealing with family?

When your time is not enough, or the time is stranded by those trivial visiting, why not skip it? I hope that you can spare some time to see your parents, maybe it is once a year thing, but it might be precious moment for your parents too. I hope that you can work it out better around.

It really is sad that Christmas can be a time of such stress for so many famiies. It really takes away from the joy of the season. 2 days for 3 families is a lot, and I hope somehow you can make it a happy time. I wish you only the best and Thank you and your husband for your service. God Bless you both.
