Opium Production Up 61% in Afghanistan

Report shows that the production of addictive substance, OPIUM, rose about 61% in 2011 under the democratic watch of the UN and NATO in Afghanistan. Of interest to me is the fact that most people are indeed surprised and concerned by this report, as if unaware that our neighborhood NATO Gatlin boys are druggies -

I think that you are maintaining an old myth ! Afghanistan is not Vietnam and soldiers are sent there only for short periods. My opinion is that talibans, who forbid opium 10 years ago, are now needing the money coming from this opium to sustain their war against NATO.
