I doubt I would be afraid. I would be surprised and alittle shocked. He muust need to go out. Rarely would he be trying to alert me to something. Dogs have been known to alert a person because they have a medical concern that they need to be aware of. There would be plenty of reason for this.

'Supernatural' and 'God' are sort of oxymorons to me. They don't go together at all. I think this is a sensitivity not a super natural power.

yes, you are right.animals and birds have some super natural powers given by god.this is the reason why the dogs and other birds will behave differently before happening of natural disasters.this super natural power is given by god only to mammals.

Wow Its amazing that your dog can speaks to you. And its just a rare case because its hard to train a dog to speak and yet your dog had develop it by itself. How i wish that my dog could speak. If i were you I would be so grateful and would not be afraid rather to train it more and give more attention. By the way what's the breed of your dog maybe this accounts to his special skills.

I'm not surprised by this actually. Before he passed away, my dog Shadow used to speak human at times. He didn't do it often, but when he did it was a shock until I got over it and answered him. He used to speak things like: Where were you, and he'd tell me "no" a lot. My family even once owned a husky puppy who once said "I don't know" when we asked her when she was going to behave. It was quite funny.
Today I own four dogs, but only one of them (Keisha) has ever spoken to me in the same manner. Sometimes she'll go "Mom!" when she wants my attention bad enough and whining doesn't do the trick for her. There was also a time she went "meow" like a cat. I have no idea how she managed to do that. Been a few years ago though.
The rest don't do anything. They just act like..well dogs.
There are many times though when all of them bark. Keisha mostly barks, and people find it odd how I can understand what she is saying through her barks. Mind you, this is regular barking, not the other way. I've confirmed it several times though by stating exactly what Keisha told me about so and so. It's rather funny to see the reactions on people's faces.
And for what it's worth, I talk to my dogs and cats like I would a human child. I'm weird like that.

My dog speaks with me every day. But she doesn't use words. She only knows to use body language and she uses it a lot. If you get used to your dog you can start to understand dogs' language.
For instance, when my dog does what you experienced yesterday night, I know she wants me to get up and take her outside. She comes near my bed and she stares at me until I wake up. She doesn't bark, she doesn't touch me in any way, she just stays there, looking at my face until I wake up.
