I think one of the biggest gains from yesterday's match is that Dhoni has started playing those helicopter shots again. I think it is one of the most effective shots against yorkers. For too long Dhoni has been restricting himself from playing these shots and had been playing in a shell. That is why yesterday's innings was a welcome respite.
What are your views?
Cheers!
Ram

surely Dhoni is really back.
Yesterday I saw the old Dhoni who plays fearlessly.
His helicopter shot was also there, lead from front, scored the runs even when the boundary was large.
hope this is a good start for the Indian captain in this new season.

I feel that in case of Dhoni loss of form was due to excessive cricket he plays. Its an open secret now that BCCI has the IPL on top of their priority list , hence players are unlikely to get rest during IPL and Champions league.Players playing in IPL and being rested in recent tour of WI is perfect example of that. Its likely that India will get pitches similar to one in Hyderabad for next four matches too, hence they should win untill they play poor cricket. However main worry is Aus tour and we want fresh and in form Dhoni for that tour so it would be better if Dhoni is rested for full WI series.Coming back to this series i think Dhoni is looking great after 10 days rest and i hope he continues with his top form.

I think one of his major worries over the recent times has been his finger injury. Due to constant game time, he has not got time to rest it enough. That shows in his tentative keeping as well. In that way, I am happy that CSK went out early in the Champions Trophy T20 tournament.
Cheers!

Though I didn't watch the match I have heard that he played like he used to in his earlier days.
Dhoni is an aggressive batsman and he should play his natural game to be effective. So this is really a welcome respite for Indian team.
Let us hope he keeps playing like this.

I agree with you ram, we could see vintage Dhoni yesterday with his helicopter shots. Two of his shots, one over mid on for a six and another a straight drive for four will be remembered for a long time. He has been controlling himself of late considering the situation India is in but he is the best when he is in attacking mode. Hope he will carry this form to an all important series Down Under which will follow shortly.

Dhoni was in great shape too and was highest scorer in the England tour ODI matches. He continues his form here too and making fly the ball out of boundary.
It good to see that his trademarkshot the helicopter shot came in action again he score well with it.
The runs made By Dhoni able to make score of 300 and it is fine that Captian is lewading from the front.
Great cheer up Dhoni take revenge from those English hit them hard.
