nowadays, whether having a house or not has become a necessary factor to make evaluation on a person. while for a common worker, it is quite difficult to afford a house. Prices of houses in a common city can reach at a surprising level. Therefore, in order to buy a house, a person should work hard for nearly 20-30 years. we have really become the real slaves of houses. But what if we did not make this choice? After 20 to 30 years, we become old and can never enjoy life to the full.So do you think it is worthwhile to work so hard just for a house? let's share.

I guess one of the greatest investment a person can have is a house. I myself is an employee who wishes to have a house someday. I think it is more like an achievement than a social status. For me, yes we must admit that owning a house is quite costly but for a hard working person, everything is almost possible. You can still enjoy life at the same time of saving. You can still enjoy time with your family by living frugally.

I agree with you. In my country, it is also hard for a common worker to afford a house. This is because our wages our low, but prices are high. So most people rent and spend a lot of money in rent. There are some low-cost housing projects available, but, still, for common workers, the pay is just enough for daily food and clothes. So, it is important to work hard and to have other sources of income. Financial gurus say that it would be good to save and to invest. That way your money earns more money for you. Other than that, people can also be active in businesses and earn more. For most of my countrymen, another way is to work in foreign countries.

It seems to be a trend in China for people of different levels to own a house of their own, especially for people living in a city, but the housing price has gone up to a height that ordinary people find it really hard to afford to have one. I am lucky to have bought a house of my own for my family and one for my parents respectively before the prices went up more than eight or nine years ago. With the money I bought those houses years ago, I could hardly buy no house at all because of the high housing price. Now the housing price is more than triple the price. And you are right that if we desire to buy a house as a common worker, it would take more than twenty or thirty years of time for one to pay off the monthly installment. What is good is that our government is adopting and carrying out some good policies to help those who can not afford a house to live in--cheap houses, small but cozy.
