I do not know how one be so badly in love with such material things. That what a 17 year old boy did. Hope this will not be repeated. Wonder what will he do if he badly needed something more costly that just a price for a kidney could not affort. Just check this link
http://www.funnymos.com/chinese-teen-sells-his-kidney-for-an-ipad-2.html.
I wonder want would be the cure for such acts...

Yeah that's shocking when I saw that news. Why are they so into that gadgets to the extent that he sold his kidney.
I think it could be reasonable if he did it for saving a love ones, that would be acceptable. But doing it for sake of a gadget, no way.

I completely second you on in that.
Its a complete organ we are talking about which could save someones life who really matters. And now God forbid if its really needed theres no way a person can donate with a single kidney.

It is so sad how our youth today can exchange something as valuable as a kidney just so he can buy an iPad. It has got to do with the pressure to have such hi tech things when you are at that age. In my country some men sell one of their kidneys so that they can feed their family and when they were interviewed they say that they easily spend the money as fast as they have them. Some middle men also cut their percentage for the deal so the one who owns the kidney does not get the whole amount.

Hi SHAMRACK,
Why to go to China only until it was made punishable act to sell one's kidney thousands of them sold one of their kidneys.
The reason is just an affectation. Their friends have access to those gadgets and he does not have one and his parents either refuses to pay for an i pod or they were poor and hence not able to provide their son his so called needs.
Selling their organs like kidney is not only punishable act in India now but the buyers too are not spared. What I call this is degeneration of the new generation.

The only cure I can think for those acts is to have the buyers go to jail. I don´t understand how a teen can dispose of his organs in a legal way. But I would punish the hard way all the older perple involved, Including the boy´s parents if he has them.

I cannot imagine that parents will not know that their teen children will undergo a mayor operation. That is not innocence. There´s something very wrong there that starts with society.

Maybe I´m too old to understand how technology has turned mankind into slaves. I don´t accept that society can be helpless while people sell themselves or their children to get some material goods. I might understand it in case of famine, but not for an i-pad.

Hi SHAMRACK,
I think that is a crazy thing.I sell my kidneys only for my kids or wife, not for devices. If I want necessarily a device or something like that, I will work hardly.

It would be against the law in australia to sell any body parts. Body parts are only donated here, and even then after strict conditions have been met.
It is a sad realtiy that consumerism has affected teenagers in particular.
I would imagine the only thing the chinese Government could do, is to ban the sale of body parts, andd ban doctors from buying body parts, and striclt enforce this rule.

This world is really getting crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!. How could someone do such a foolish thing.....selling your kidney, in other words, selling you good health just for an iPad.... I wish instead he had donated his kidney and saved someones life........at least he would have got some blessings.....but now, this is just a waste. Tomorrow this ipad will become primitive and something new will come, then may be he will sell other parts of his body....don't they realize the fact that, man made objects can be replaced, but God made organs are not replaceable. OH God !!!help these ignorant children of today.

It is crazy of the teen to do things as such. His mother must be very sad about his silly and selfish behavior just for an IPad. I really feel sad when I got to know this and hope that no one else would do such a thing as what he has already done. Life and health are more important than material life. Take care, Shamrack.

I think that there is something very wrong with the world in which we live if children start to do things like this in order to buy the things that they want. I don't actually think that people should be paid for giving up their organs, because it means that they might just think about the money side of things and not really the health side of things; which surely should be the most important thing when anybody is making a decision such as that. People should want to give organs because they want to help somebody, rather than because they'd be getting any kind of reward for doing so.

Hi Shamrack,
At the age of 17, this young lad probably haven't developed his long-term vision of life. His body thrives on one kidney now and it needs to work twice as hard. There is a high possibility that he might suffer from kidney malfunctions in future.
However, I admire his wits. He knows what he wants and even found a way to get it without performing any criminal act. Anyhow practices like this should not be encouraged.

Wow..I can't believe in this! I don't see why someone would do that, because even though the other kidney will work to replace the lost one, this is just stupid thing to do. I don't know what I would do if I was his mother..

Well i guess in my opinion that kid was so materialistic and no parents are guiding what would be the best solution in it.No one gave advises on that kid. Maybe that kid was middle in the society and all the friends are rich so that kid chose to buy the kidney that result for his suffering in later years. He may experience kidney failure thus need much money also.

Hi Shamrack!
I think I have heard a similar news before. It's really shocking what people can do just to get their desires. In this case, a teenager's desire for an Ipad made him to donate one of his kidneys. I think it's really alarming. It does not only show how the generation today is so addicted to high-tech gadgets, but this also shows that they will do anything just to get what they want. The generation today is really different.

Wow...he must have really wanted that Ipad. I could not imagine putting that much importance on anything material. We need those kidneys and although we can do without one...he is really young and you just never know what the future holds. It wouldn't be a risk I would be willing to take.

I feel Ipad is not that worth to sell his kidney. If he had sold his kidney to save somebody's life. then it would have been appreciated.
