In Vietnam, There is this man who really loves his wife, He cant move on from her death so few years after his wife's death, he dug her skeleton from grave and mold it inside a statue. That statue which has her wife inside it, has been keeping him company for 5 years. I think some of his neighbors were complaining for possible health concerns but no matter what they do,their words wont stop him. this gypsum statue with his wife's skeleton on it,is dressed on her clothes. He sleeps next to her concrete remains everynight for 5 years.
He and his late and beloved wife have a son, I dont know normal is it for a boy to grow up with a father who sleeps next to his mother's corpse.
In away this story is romantic and disturbing at the same time.
this my story source and its not a referral link: http://www.weirdasianews.com/2009/12/03/vietnamese-man-sleeps-dead-wife/

Hello Albert,
The end of the article is surrealistic : "Local authorities are said to be planning an inspection of the case because of new sanitation laws that rule a body must be cremated or buried, and that burials cannot be carried out in residential gardens without approval." Well, law says nothing about the marriage bed, but digging to exhume a fresh cadaver is not an offense in Vietnam ?
I was saying elsewhere that we live in a mad world : this guy looks really mad and the photographer who took some pictures of him in his bed near the cadaver of his wife has also something wrong in his head. There was certainly a risk for his health five years ago -- it is not even gypsum, it is clay ! -- but it is certainly low now. Anyways, I don't see this sort of necrophilia as something romantic at all !

there are so many beautiful single ladies in Vietnam but he really seemed to not move on,maybe a picture of her on a frame would have been much more acceptable, I guess. Its the most unique case of necrophilia for sure, I just hope he is not making love with the statue with his wife in it.I hope his son can grow up normally.

I agree with you : a picture on a frame would have been weird, but somewhere touching. I never heard of a case of necrophilia like this one : he needs to see a psychiatrist, and probably his son too, as I can't believe this child will not have some mental sequels later.

well he just make sleeping next to a picture on a frame looks normal but I do understand how he feels.it seemed like he is disowned by his neighbors cos no one is visiting him ever since he decided to give a brand new flesh for her bones that is made of clay.

It is still sounds crazy but it is more sane than the situation he is in now, he is also a social outcast eversince he decided to take home his wife's body. he is abandoned by his friends nowadays.

Oh my. It's touching to see how deeply he loves his wife but at some point he needs to learn that he just has to let her go. Visiting her grave everyday would be a better choice for him if he really misses her that much. But to sleep next to her remains like that, it really isn't sanitary. Not to mention the psychological effects these must have on their son.

I also dont think its respectful to make body molded inside a statue. his wife for sure should be resting in peace but he really cant let her go. Their son's situation is disturbing for sure. it doesnt look like a good environment for a child to see his dad sleeping next to his mother's corpse.

Its a classic story of love and denial, its hard for him to accept the truth, His situation makes him a town outcast.

Oh my goodness what kind of stuff is that? I guess he really loved his wife, she meant the world to him, and he didn't want to let her go, That really touched my heart. he really loved his wife. But if he don't move on he will soon join her because have you ever heard people dying of broken hearts? But i would call this romantic and serious..

he might die of infection too cause he is sleeping next to a statue with his wife's skeleton inside it every night,Just think about all that bacteria. on the other hand he does really love her that he cant move on with his life and accept the truth she is gone,

My first impression to the news is "shocked". Although it sounds romantic and sweet, when thinking of the cold skeleton, it chills my backbone. Since i am not married yet, i may not be able to feel the sorrow of losing one's beloved wife. Nevertheless, i don't reckon that the average would identify with what the man did. Moreover, he should consider his son before doing so. Anyway,May his wife rest in peace.
