How long does it take for you to get the first 1000 page views in a new site?

If you are a member of a writing site, such as Bukisa, Triond, Associated Content, Expertscolumn, Wikinut, Hubpages, Squidoo, and others, you would like to have as many page views as possible.
Reaching the first 1000th page view is very encouraging.
That is about the time when our income crosses the first dollar too.
Most sites, regardless of Adsense sharing or payment by page views, would have earned you at least a dollar or two by the time you have 1000 page views.
I have just joined Expertscolumn five days ago, and have only 250 page views from my articles.
Since those are not original articles, but reposted from Triond, I am quite happy with the page views.
I think I will pass the 1000th page views mark by next week.
How long does it take for you to get the first 1000 page views in a new writing site?

hi scheng1,
That's a very interesting point. How many articles did you post in Expertscolumn to garner 250 pageviews. I started participating in Wikinut recently and I had 222 pageviews in 4 days. At this rate, I would hit 1000 pageviews in less than a month, I guess. I currently have 5 articles in there. How I wish I could get someone to post my articles there for me. Haiz!

Hi SydneyHazelton, Wikinut does have more traffic than Triond or Expertscolumn, but the earning is way too little.
Expertscolumn pays by page views, at $1.50 per 1000 page views, and the minimum payout is five dollars.
I do not check how many articles I have posted every day!
Anyway these are republished content from Triond.
Some were written last year, and the traffic has slowed down for these old articles.
I am more concerned about the average page views every day.
I just hope for an average of 40 views, so that I can get the first payout in December.
If I can make it earlier, that will be better!
End of the year is the time when money is rather tight. It is good to have extra money at the end of the year.

It does look like earnings at Wikinut is really peanuts (probably 5 cents per 1000 pageviews, just my guess). Expertscolumn does seem to be paying much much more. I can see how you set your goals; it's average pageviews per day, rather than number of articles.
I need to put in more articles into Wikinut and then probably move on to Expertscolumn. These are all recycled articles that I'm posting as well. Tell us the good news when you reach payout!

Have you uploaded any more articles after those 300 articles at Wikinut? Are your earnings truly passive from there now?
I have less than 10 articles for now. And it does look like I need a lot of pageviews to get paid there. But I will upload as many as possible. My pageviews fluctuate at this moment and I can't truly tell how many pageviews I would get from my articles. It's difficult to gauge.
40 pageviews per day sounds reasonable. I think you will be able to achieve your target very soon.

I think that it depends how many articles you write, and also how good your writing is. I have written some articles that have taken well over a year to hit 1000 page views, but at the same time I have written some that have only taken a couple of hours to get to the same level. If people like what you're writing about, then they're much more likely to tell their friends about it and send links to them, meaning that you get a lot of page views through word of mouth. Because of this, it is very important that you always make your writing the best of your ability.

Well, having a thousands of page views is very easy to reach if we are much aware about making money with those articles we post.
But I notice some problem with those article base website. They are tricking the publisher sometimes for not credited any page views that we delivered. I notice it in triond. I promote my articles there but don't see any progress on page views and impossible to say that there is no page views. Because when I check it on counter there are hundreds of page views a day...
This is the reason I say this things and now I am lazy to promote my articles in triond...

Well, you are right, scheng. I can't read the TOS carefully but I really notice something scheme in triond...
There's a time that I get enough visitor's to my articles because I promote the where my article being published. In two weeks I notice a good result with my earnings...when I reach more and more traffic to my article. I am surprise that it suddenly stop. It's really upsetting because done many hard work to get more visitor's then not counted...
Now, I am not active in promoting my article there due to such event.

For Triond, it takes me about 3 months to get 1,000 views, but I don't really keep track of the other sites I write for because I'm not concentrating on them.

Haha Reviewmemedia, I am observing the opposite!
For Triond, I do not pay attention to page impressions, since Triond does not pay by page views.
However, for sites that pay by page views, such as Expertscolumn, I will pay attention to the total page views.
I think I just need another few days to reach the first thousand views, since I have about 700 now.
I joined on 10 Oct, and I am quite glad with the results so far.
i expect about 40 page views daily, and the site has exceeded my expectation.

Glad you signed up with experts and are getting page views. It is really great that you can repost on there too. Actually when you search your articles from there they will normally show up at a decent place in the search. Good luck on experts.

I think it depends the content of your article. If you are writing on the so called 'Hot' topics.
For example if I wrote on the new iPhone 4S or the iPhone 5 it would get huge page views. But If I wrote of the Nokia N97 it wouldn't.
Get the point?

Hi Boyuancy, I never write on so called hot topic.
I write evergreen articles.
Even if a site closes down many years later, I can still post the content elsewhere.
I tend to write those content about how to get rid of headache etc.
These are the types of content that gather page views very slowly, and consistently.
I have reposted some articles in Expertscolumn that I have written years ago.
Sometimes, page views for a certain article decreases after a few months, so it makes sense for me to find a new website that accepts duplicate content.
