They have great shows on tv in the UK. The BBC has had some great shows like Robin Hood, Dr. Who, and Survivors. Luckily I have Netflix so I can watch a lot of them online. Right now I am re-watching the Survivors series about life in a post epidemic London. It is eerily real. Do you like the BBC shows too? Which is your favorite?

You definitely grabbed my attention with Survivors, I haven't seen it yet. But BBC has made some of the show I love most - Robin Hood, Doctor Who, Torchwood, and the greatest one - Spooks. I'm not sure if Primeval is BBC's, but if it is, I'm placing it in the list.

Actually it's one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. It is about the life and the job and devotion of the British counter-intelligence services - MI-5. It's been running since 2002, now I think BBC Three is running Season 10. You might check it out. And in seasons 7,8,9 you will see sir Guy of Gisborne...

I used to watch BBC America until I cut back on my cable bill. I used to watch all three of the shows you mentioned plus I also liked the BBC version of Being Human, Luther, and Skins. I also like Primeval, which I was surprised to see was renewed for a few more years after having been cancelled. I also used to watch Law and Order UK although that was in part to see how many plot lines they borrowed from the original show. The one thing I hate about BBC shows is how few episodes they make for each season.

I got rid of my cable/satellite about 8 months ago. I bought a Roku box for 79 dollars and now stream the internet and pay 8 dollars a month for Netflix. It is wonderful! You should look into it too!

What all shows do you get with Roku and Netflix? How would Netflix compare with Hulu Plus?

Faulty Towers I moved to Italy from UK over three decades ago and from then onwards I never saw any more BBC television shows but I will never ever forget that series. It still has me laughing even now when I see the tapoes of it that my sister recorded for me at the time and sent as a gift. I have been in UK recently and there is nothing now that particularly caught my attention. The one thing that I did notice though is how the langage has changed with so many 'bad' words included in all of the programs regardless of whether they are talk-shows or soaps. So sad

Considering that in many homes the television is on from dawn until dusk and children therefore hear it all, it is no wonder that they learn and use those words in their conversations too I guess that it's a sign of progress that negativity gets a bigger audience than positivity. Sad indeed.

I like hotel babylon. I recently started watching bbc shows and there is not much to see . They are showing dancing with stars (i don't like these dance/singing competition shows), hotel babylon, doctor who and all these are shows which have already ended, some are new maybe like extreme makeover home edition,or dancing with stars but nothing more.I am really disappointed with them and i think all these english tv channnels in in india are racist as shows we get here are old ones. For example lie to me has already ended everywhere but here after 1st and 2nd season they never showed it. I never seen the third season and even online i can't watch it.I so desperately want to see the lie to me season 3 episode 13 killer app. As for netflix , its still not available in india.

I didn't know that about India. I feel bad for you that you cannot get more recent shows or even Netflix! Hopefully it will change for you soon.

We were also into Dr Who, more than the children if the truth were to be known.I like East Enders as well as Holby city, Casualty and a few others that they have on there.I think that they have some great things on BBC1 and this is a family main channel that we watch together.

I love Gordon Ramsey's shows, so I find myself watching BBC a lot! The English are much less reserved than us Americans, and that draws me to them so much more! I love how they're just honest about everything, and get straight to the point. The most honest and straightforward people are from England...Heck, even Simon Cowell is! I need to start watching Dr. Who, I heard it was an awesome series.

I LOVE BBC shows. Robin Hood is probably one of my favorites. They recently released 3 episodes of Sherlock Holmes that were amazingly cool. I also enjoy Fawlty Towers, Keeping Up Appearances, and Midsomer Murders. My dad has been watching a tv show on Netflix called MI-5. I don't know if it's BBC but it is British and there are like 80ish episodes so it will definitely keep you entertained for a while. :)
