How do you deal with stress?

Well, today, I saw a parent yelling at his child about the fact that he did not do his homework. I can tell that he was filled to the brim with anger, and didn't cease. I knew that this wasn't right, but I didn't know how to approach it. OK, now imagine that you're the kid. It's almost like a relationship between the Sun and the Earth, except that the Sun is now destroying life more than cradling it in its warm rays. So now, the kid is full of stress and anguish, right? How would he heal himself, and prevent any further incidents? I'm asking this, because I'm an adult and know how to deal with it, but I would like to see someone who knows or who has children in his family and knows how he or she feels.

When I was under stress, I couldn't realize that my body was very nervous too. I just knew I was fidgety and couldn't control my mood. So I'm learning to feel my body when I am nervous now. Sometimes it help. Other ways like doing readings, talking to someone, or watch some irritative films etc.

As for parents, I think a very important thing is not tranferring their stress to their kids, who are innocent and sensitive. It is not good for their growth.

I breakdown. Coz after you suffer a breakdown only you feel better. Like you feel better when you are sad and you cry.

Hi foxontherails, Usually I will hit the gym when I'm stressed out. Exercising relaxes my mind and keeps my unwanted emotions at bay. Meeting people from all walks of life everyday is part of my job and this is where my tension builds up. Different people comes with different characters. I think accepting things as they are is another way to lead a stress free life. This applies when we are dealing with a person or a situation that cannot be changed or may never change for good.

This is a very good topic actually. It has never crossed my mind to think that a child can be stressed out. But if a child does get stressed out then the best solution is to have the parent comfort the child, or you can provide the child with his/her favorite toy, or blanket.

We should not be like that to our kids. I don't believe in punishing your child just to make him do his homework. What i do believe is doing it in a rewarding way. Perhaps he can motivate his child instead by promising him a reward if ever he will do good in his studies and would have high grades.

When I feel stress, I go out (alone) and breathe fresh air. Then I organize thoughts and start thinking posite, if in stress I was bump to some, I go and apologise and tell why I bump. Then I hug people and all is ok. But sometimes I just cry, cry, cry and then with my tears stress leave me too

Being a parent is really very stressful. The right thing to do is to remind the child to do it next time and give him the reason why it is his responsibility to do so. The training should be at the very first day when he stepped to school, so you'll get out of it the soonest. With my youngest daughter who is very playful, if she wanted to have extra time to play, then she must know how to manage her time. She do her assignments in class if she is already finished with her other task. Then, she could play all she want with her classmates because she have 1.5 hours to do so before her elder sister could go out from class. Be clear with the Rules and make sure that it should be followed.

Dealing with stress is such a difficult task but can be lessen or prevented. When I'm stress I just go out with my friends, have a cup of tea or going to the beaches and other entertainment bars. Here in our place we usually went to a comedy bar where in stress are not present. All people laugh at loud as they like. Stress can be manageable as long as you accept the fact and its situation you are facing.

When i am in stress, i will not realize where i am !!! Also i will talk much when i am in stress. In this way i will realize i am in stress. In case of childrens, if we acknowledge them what they are doing !!! They will be more happy !!! I think engaging with kids also releases our stress
