why do most boys want to watch movies with blood and guns?

Well my friend , i too love to watch those type of movies. As long as it is not as gory as those with knife yielding movies, but is suspenseful and has a nice story, i would always watch it with my husband.

hi katrina! hmm.. i think boys likes this type of shows because their being "man" is boosted by this type of show. just like us girls we can relate to dramas more showing off our softer side. with men their "maton"-hard side.

you can't generalize. i like to watch war movies that mst girls wouldnt care to watch, but because i like history so much, this is why i watch thm. does that make me weird?

Such a Great Question, & After Very Long time I Respond & Post here at mylot so i also say Warm hello to you & all fellow mlotters, as the others answers said, yes its genetically & naturally boys love to Fight, because they believe they can save their family for enemies & also every boy like thrills, so that why we likes it, I am sorry i understand being a bully or fight without reason is very bad. in last I am sorry for my bad english.

Beacause is mannish. Most of the "things", concepts, behaviors and topics are splitted in two big slices: men stuff and girl stuff. Men have liked to conquer lands since ancient times, so he can rule and have all the power. Nowadays is different, but that desire is still in us. Boys doesn't like to wear dresses or make-up every day or do anykind of girlish stuff.

This is because men are so into these physical stuffs unlike women who are more on the emotional stuffs. That's just the way it is. They want something that could pump their testosterones and of course, watching emotional dramas won't do that. So they go to these morbid movies that keep their hormones and adrenaline rushing.

It is because men's minds are more geared to action and fights, and car chases and such. That grabs their imagination. Women are more interested in substance and plot. We want drama and plot twists.

I hate movies that has lots of fight scenes.I noticed that most of the english movies that are popular around the world are actually that type of movies.The movies made in my language has very little fight scenes.Drama is what i like to watch.But i am surprised that a lot of people,mostly males want to watch action movies,that too kind of superhero movies that they make in hollywood which i cant just digest.

In whole world every person's mind is diffrent then other'll, you can't compair to person's mind,so its all depends on thoughts of persons, i am also watching action films, chinese movies of jet li..

I think boys find dramas and love stories a bit boring. Boys love lots of excitement. But lately I find young adult men watching soaps already. Perhaps because soaps nowadays are combination of bits of action, comedy and drama. Maybe they find it interesting and worth watching. I believe that when boys are given good choices for these kinds of dramas, they will enjoy watching those too.

Hi, From my own experience I can say that we are watching fighting movies because so we relax. I know the you, girls like the beautiful and the nice, but we, the men like to fight, to protect our "women".

Well I guess men aren't programmed to watch lovey dovey stuff, emotional dramas and really soft or touching movies, it's just not their thing. My dad sure hates it but my Mum loves the romantic films and my dad always complains how she lies in bed all day watching romantic Korean dramas Guys prefer the action, the gore and blood. I guess violence gets their blood pumping and makes them enjoy it because it's manly? I'm a girl and I actually don't like romantic and emotional dramas. They tend to bore me, I like my action and animation movies better. I love animated films, when a new animated film comes out, I just have to watch it first. I like comedies too and I watch some action movies with my Dad. We all can't rely on stereotypes, everyone has different tastes.
