yesterday was a truly horrible day. after a less than successful nights sleep, my dog started throwing up all over my house. I got him outside, cleaned up the house just in time for the power to go out. just my block. nowhere else in town. after several hours of no power i called my sitter. my sitter had power so i offered to pay her extra to watch my daughter and i went to get some work for a project done at school. about 45 minutes later, my sitter calls and my daughter is throwing up. go and pick her up she smells like puke, we get home to the power still being out. power finally comes back on...both of the computers in the house have blue screens of death. my husbands was an easy fix...it looks like mine is a really big paper weight. and to top things off, my garage door comes off the track. my hubby was 3 hours late getting home. i am still frustrated with yesterday. when my husband finally got home, i went back to school because i am being evaluated this week so i have to fill out all the evaluation paper work. i did not get home until after midnight. i have to say that my school, built in 1905, is pretty creepy when you are there at night by yourself. how do you get over a really bad day?

That was a hell of a day! My first thought was a spa visit or a trip to Margaritaville! But the only thing you Can do is just take a little time today and do a hobby you love. At Least an Hour. Or if you like movies , see a favorite movie!

once the rug rat is in bed ( I really do love her, but she is demanding every iota of my time and energy right now) I am just going to sit and watch Grey's Anatomy. May not make up for a week's worth of bad days, but may get me centered to get through tomorrow.

I know what is like having a bad day , but , lately I am in control of it. When I think is a bad day I stop all activities , think of what I have that makes me happy, put some instrumental music (happy one and I take around 5 breathes very deep while I say to myself "everything is alright" usually after I do that , I start feeling much better or forgeting the bad moments. I recuperate my day and keep on. Dont wait for the day to end, do it right when You feel that something is going wrong.

I would love to be able to take that 5 minutes that I need, but when i am teaching, I cannot just stop and go find a quiet spot to readjust my mindset. Same with the only adult home with a sick child. I do try and find my happy centered spot at my plan time and do some deep breathing, but sometimes that is not enough.

I have had many bad days. When those days are done, I just collapse and go over what happened. Perhaps I can in fact pinpoint what precisely is going wrong. That does go a long way of really relieving some form of stress level that I have. Still there are a lot of times where it just seems like every thing that could have gone wrong, did go wrong, and then even more things rather went wrong to say the very least. So I just decide to shake my head, acknowledge what happened but try and press forward in life. Tomorrow is another day after all. Things have to get better the next day. Of course, there is nothing worse than having a really bad day and then following that up with a day that really does seem worse is not a good time. Hopefully however the next day is good. It is that hope that is the only thing that keeps me sane after a particularly bad day. There's always tomorrow. It has to be better.

I reflect on the end of each teaching day of what went good and what went bad and try to analyze how it could go better next time. The reflecting normally makes me feel better. I do the same things with my students work. What did they do well on, did they all not get one thing, what can i do to help them. Sunday, really was not my fault. I could not control the power going out on a clear day on just my block.

Well, my friend when i had a bad day at the office , i just would go home and rest and enjoy my favorite soaps. I pray for whatever bad that happened in the office and sleep well and look forward to another new day. Another day, will be a new experience and set of challenges, but i am ready for it. I just enjoy everyday as it unfolds.

I am getting pretty good at leaving the office at the office, but a harder time leaving home at home. I think it should be that way though. A persons family should come first.

Hi! I usually eat a lot or shop when I feel bad. At times I'd like to do this alone and at times with a friend ,it depends on my mood.

I ate my way through my frustration, but then I regretted it the next day. Mozzerella cheese sticks deep fried and then ice cream does not make a goo dinner.

Coffee,coffee,coffee... When i woke up at the wrong side of our bed, when i feel like all the loads are in my hands, when i can't sleep because i need to look after the shop 'till midnight, and when i feel like screaming to my hearts contents because all the problems pouring down on me...all i do is brew a cup-full of creamy coffee with cinnamon on top of it... :-p Try it...might also work for you..

my bad day became a bad week. When the power went out it killed my computer. My husband luckily does not get rid of anything....ever, so he had an additional hard drive from when he updated his computer about a year ago, but he only got it up and running last night. I got evaluated today, I teach, and we were outside showing how objects that really are bigger can appear smaller....to relate to the solar system. My princiapl is out there freezing her butt off with the rest of us, and when my students were supposed to be measuring the distance between the two students, one of my darlings ran off to catch a leaf. Now if my students were in kindergarten that would be okay, but they are in fourth grade.

Sing,I used to have bad days teaching in a prison. At home, I would put on cassettes and sing with them. It could be run on batteries when there was no power. I was single then. Now I'm married, tell my hubbie I had a bad day and he talks me out of feeling badly about it. He usually does something to take my mind off it like puts on a funny movie, tells me about his day or takes me out to eat, tells me a joke (at least he tries to, but he isn't great at it).

Hi asyria51, through it all you made it. You can look back on yesterday and thank God that no two days are the same. Yesterday is gone forget it. Relax your mind take a deep breath, after that you know that you can make it through the worst of time, because you just did.

I usually just try and calm down. Maybe do some yoga or power breaths to calm yourself down. I also listen to music. Music can always cheer me up. Just realize you don't have it that bad.

I actually started simple yoga with my students, along with some visualization techniques to get them calmed down after they get back from recess. It works really well for me, and it seems to get some of the kids back on track a bit more quickly.

Hi First when it's needed, if it was that bad sometimes you need to cry if it's hurting or it's too deep but the best medicine after that is laughing. There are tons of blogs showing the best videos of the day, pictures for a quick grin, try to change the mood and when you can't do it by your self look for it outside, by seeking these free things that can make you laugh, like the web.

I have decided that fudge bars are the best medicine. I may have to do an extra 500 crunches for it, but totally worth it at the time. Venting also helps. Commenting on others problems also helps.

It seems that you passed the day very bad. Sometimes it is not only happen one day, but continue to next days.So I think,it might not hard if you try to live the day with sincerity. Try to pull a deep breath, repeat several time until you calm down. this is very helpful. then listen the soft music, while drinking a cup of tea, coffee or maybe milk. Let your self be lost in the music. Life is beautiful. :)

my daughter does not appreciate my music...that being that I do not want to listen to wheels on the bus, or ABC's. I did finally get her to sleep, and the helped to calm me down...just some me time.

Well, at least it's another day. Just stay happy and try to enjoy life. Do not take it so seriously. Be thankful for you were given another day to live. When you have a bad day, try to take it off your mind and sleep it off. Then when you wake up the next day, everything will be fine.
