I kiss, hug, bathe and talk to my pet named ''Falooneet''It's a pretty wierd name, but I chose it because it sounds good to my ears.I think you will be surprised to know that my pet is a chicken! No she's not the usual kind of chicken we eat.She is a midget chicken.I mean she is a very small kind of chicken.I prefer having chickens as pets because they are wierd.Whenever I put a ball in front of her,she will not move even if I move her. Also when I lift her and I put the ball beside her,her head won't follow her body while I am moving her..It is like she is dancing an Indian dance.I love her.I kiss her and hug her and bathe her at least once a week.I treat her like a family. She loves being pampered. Do you do the same to your pets?Do you treat them as part of the family?

You have a pet chicken? That's so cool! I only have a pet dog and a pet cat. I kind of want a pet skunk though. Anyways, to answer your question, I hug and talk to my pets, and treat them as part of the family, but I don't kiss them. Mainly because they don't like being kissed and would claw and scratch at me to get away if I tried to. But they're lovable creatures. Most people treat pets as a part of their families.

Oh I rather curious as to why you would want a skunk. I mean I do have a favorite cartoon character skunk named Pepe le Pew but I find it hard to imagine having one in the house, especially since I am not certain they can be domesticated. Well, some people do have unusual pets. Good luck!

Oh, so surgery will take care of the stink problem. What about the legal aspects? In the Philippines there are no skunks. In countries where they can be found, like yours, aren't there any laws prohibiting or restricting the procurement of such animals as pets?

Actually, if you take the skunk in as your pet shortly after its birth (well, more so shortly after it's old enough to live on its own), then as long as you've placed it through the operation to have its glands responsible for the stink removed, they tend to become quite dog like. Several of my friends have had pet skunks in the past, all but 2 of them meeting the conditions above, and they all ended up acting a lot like pet dogs really. The 2 that were taken in as pets a little later on in life though had grown a little stronger of an attachment to their instincts, so acted a little more notably different, but still remained surprisingly close to a dog in general behaviors. Mind you that in all the skunks, there were many characters and behavioral traits that you usually wouldn't see in a dog, but considering normal expectations of skunks, the similarities are outstanding. Plus they are cute.

Oh yes definitely! I have three dogs and a bearded dragon and they are part of our family. I treat them with hugs and kisses all day long and they get the best creature comforts I can afford to give them. I don't know what I would do without my pets as I love them so much! : )

A bearded dragon? I had to go look that up! How are they as pets? Do they show affection towards humans as dogs and cats would?

I guess so, and interesting to photograph, too. So does your bearded dragon catch it's own food all the time, or do you still give it something to eat?

I talk to our pets some and pet them. I don't know if I'd say we treat them as part of the family. I guess we do sometimes. Like for christmas they all have their own stalkings that we hang and put treats in for them. My daughter takes the cat to bed with her at night and he follows her around the whole time she's home. In the summer when we go swimming in the river near my parents house we take the dogs and they swim with us.

Your pets are very lucky because they are treated very well especially your cat because she sleeps at the bed.

I love to hug and in fact talk to my cat.I don't feel her like an animal but like someone who understands me.Always when I have some problems with my parents I go out and hug her.I know she loves me because she comes and starts pressing me with her fluffy paws.

Probably because they can't talk.Just imagine if your pet opens her or his mouth and says : Hey buddy I am sick and tired of you being complaining all the time..:)

One of my cats also eats chips. Actually he eats pretty much anything. I dropped a potato and he devoured it. So much for being a carnivore.

I love my pet, and I treat her like my baby I kiss, hug or talk to her. I really feel like she is part of the family. She is very cute, and cuddly. Sometimes, I don't want to leave her alone because she always make sad expressions. I also buy her some clothes and she is really cute.

A pet chicken? How interesting! My cousin once raised an ordinary chicken as a pet as well. As for me, I have two cats who receive lots of hugs and kisses from me and my partner. We pet them and sometimes they come up to us to be petted. When it's bed time, one sleeps at the foot of the bed and the other sleeps by our heads, propped on the pillows. They are very good pets and they know what to do and what not to do inside the house. They are a great source of comfort and sometime swhen I'm having a difficult time I just think about going home and hugging my pets then I feel better.

That would be a sight to see! It's very nice to humans showing affection to animals and the said animals reciprocating it. I guess for a midget chicken that is the method to show affection---closing eyes.

I also hug my chicken when I have some problems. She closes her eyes whenever I hug her.She likes it when I hug her.

Yes,I think that's their way to show affection. Also when I put my hands under her neck, she stretches her neck to fit to my hands and closes her eyes.I love it when I see her that like that.

It sounds like you have a great relationship with Falooneet! It's very unusual - and very interesting - to hear of someone who keeps a midget chicken as a pet. My dog is a miniature dachshund and, yes, I hug him, I talk to him throughout the day and evening as he follows me around in whatever I'm doing - and he has a little "indentation" on the side of his face by his ear that is now his "kissing spot" When he is a good boy and does something on command, for example, he gets a big hug and a kiss on that kissing spot. He loves to be cuddled. Dachshunds are burrowing dogs (they love to sleep right under blankets, for example, with their head and body fully covered) so, if I lay down with him, he is soooo happy. He curls up close to me and stays with me until I get back up. I haven't had a dog in my home for about 7 years and I got Charlie at the end of May this year. I am so very happy I have him... I love him dearly

Hi ferbjohn! You really have a weird taste for pets! *peace* And your chicken really has a weird name! Where did you get that name??? And do chickens bathe anyway? We have a pet rabbit and a pet dog but I don't kiss any of them. Or rabbit doesn't even get to bathe. I tried bathing it once but after the bath, he seemed so pitiful and too cold. I worried that he might die if I bathed him again so I don't bathe him anymore. And he's always in a cage because his nails can hurt someone, it already scratched me before. So there's no hugging and kissing him. The same with our dog. Although my brother bathes our dog once in a week, it's not just a habit of ours to hug him and kiss him. He is surrounded with other dirty dogs and who knows where he goes when he's playing outside our house. He does smells us and sniffs us but not anywhere near our face.

Oh yeah.My chicken takes a bath. She does not really like it,but she has to take a bath so she will look clean and beautiful.I use just warm water so she won't shiver. And I drain her right away so she won't feel cold. The name ''Falooneet'' just popped out in my mind.It came out of nowhere.Hehe.Falooneet now has five chicks and I named them as Hummy,Tochee,Crammy,Scrammy and Badoodeet.Actually those names just came out of nowhere, and I still have many wierd names in my mind.lol.You can ask for my help if you need wierd names for your pets.hehe.

Awww this is so sweet, I love it! I love chickens although, sadly, I don't have one as a pet. They're very intelligent creatures and I've watched them outside whenever I've been out in the countryside..I could watch them for hours..you're so lucky to have a little pet one! As for talking to my cat. I do this ALL THE TIME, especially when my husband is at work. She keeps me company and I hug her too as it makes her purr. I'd be lost without my Flojo!

Oh at first, I really thought your pet was a dog. I was surprised to find out that what you were referring to was a chicken after all. We also have chickens here in the house but I don't really go close to them. We just feed them, that's all. But for our dogs, they're more like a family to us. We give them a bath, feed them, groom them.

I do like to kiss them. Before I have my pet dog and use to hug it and kiss it. And our family felt that was also a part our family. But it's better take precautions before doing all these. Because there are many contagious diseases which will attack us and even our pets. Keep enjoying with your pets.

Your chicken sounds like a dear little bird. I wonder why she acts so with a ball? I have a cat, Banjo, 2 dogs, Lucy and Roxy and 2 goats, Pickles and Tulip. They are my dear friends and I groom the goats, wash and groom the dogs and groom the cat. I give them all hugs, cuddles and kisses. We play and everyone gets along and they all love it when they can be together . They are good company for me and I love them all.

Yes, we always had a dog and cat in our home when I was growing up. They really were like the family. We would talk to them, even asking them questions! We would hug and kiss them. There are people around who think this is harmful for kids to do this - that we can catch all sorts of germs from animals and make ourselves ill. I got to say, that this never happened to me or my 3 sisters, ever. Our dog would jump up and lick our faces, especially when they were puppies, which often happened with our dog. We would keep the pups with the mother for a while and then they would go to other homes. It was a great time in my life... _Derek

My cats are my children and grandchildren. Although I know they are not like human children, I talk to them as though they understood. I believe this strenghens the emotional bond. I am constantly holding, stroking and hugging them. I also started kissing them and they are also kissing me! But some of them are not comfortable with physical contact and I try to show them that I respect their feelings.
