Apparently my family is using too much water according to the septic truck drivers who come once a week and flush out our septic holding tank. I've never had to worry about this ever and he told me that we were using too much water. I asked him about how to not use so much and he sure didn't have too many answers for me. So I asked him if it would be better if each of us only showered once a week? As if! There's no way I could only shower once a week that is gross!
Maybe some of you mylotters can help me out with advice on how to consume water?
Just so you know, the flushing trucks come every monday and empty our tank.

The septic truck driver doesn't know that a person need to take shower every day, drink water several time a day, use the toilet flush every day, clean up the dishes after every meal, he only know how to drive his truck around and complain about the water job he has. Obviously, He is not very happy he has to flush out your septic holding tank as his job required, he just want to have his bony a*s sit in the truck and park under the bridge doing nothing and getting pay every week.

it is every human being responsibility of conserving the natural resources.to day you are using water with out any difficulty means the past generations used it effectively and saved it for future generations.but, today the industrial revolution and technology leads the largest water usage.it is the duty of every citizen to get awareness on water management and use it effectively.
scientists predicted that in some countries the wars will be happen for the undertaking of water resources.
not only water each and every natural is god gift.so we can give it to our future generations also.

I agree with you lampar, I say if he doesn't like his job then find something else! Wouldn't it be nice to sit under a bridge and make money? lol It just sort of irritated me on how he had the odapcity to tell me not to use water but don't give me answers on how to save water? I told him that there's no way that he's to tell me that and I could not live on one shower a week. I have kids too and the hell if I'm sending them to school without a shower too. Also I flush the toilet when I use it (gross I know) and I think everyone else should too!
As for rahul, I'm sorry but I don't agree with your comment :(

Hi, nixxi! He is probably just another public employee among many who believe he should be paid without having to work for the money. I am not even surprise if he expect to get pay sitting inside his city provided water truck under the bridge, it is a common attitude for public employee in my country, getting pay for sitting and sleeping.

We in India do not waste water. There is always the care taken to protect and utilize water in its best way. However the steps u said are good to be observed and followed. Many use water more than what is required. However water is one of the resource which keeps us clean.

hi it's not a big idea came to mind to know about the water management.just calculate how much of water your family is using on avg per day.from morning to till night.if you are exceeding more than 100 gallons then it's time to wake up.
these are the common conservative measures
installing ultra low flush toilets
use water wise shower heads
take shower for 10 - 15 min
turn of the shower and taps while soaping, shaving and teething
wash vegetables in a bowl
turn all the taps tight after the usage.
these are the some of the common methods to save water.
