MSG! do you use them in your food?

In Philippines housewives has this long history of using MSG(monosodium glutamate)to make their food achieve the umami taste(fifth taste) and making them more flavorful. For me its like you cheated I mean real authentic home food is all about natural flavor right? what can you say? do you use them at all?

I don't use MSG and never have. I know when I have gone out to eat at a Japanese or Chinese restaurant and have eaten their food, I end up in the bathroom with the diaharia from the MSG in the food. I like to cook all natural.

Oh well. I guess some like the MSG, and it gives them no side affects. I like to just cook the basics. Have a nice day

Yes all natural is better, but i just found out that we can actually find the umami taste we are looking for from natural all day food that we see in our kitchen like tomatoes, cheese, mushroom and meat. Oh well China is to blame for making the umami taste become synthetic.

I don't like msg. The food taste better without msg. But I used to put msg on every cooking 10 years ago. The reason why I stopped using it, is because my family experienced food poisoning because of msg. I think I put too much msg on my favorite dish. That was long time ago.
In 9 years, I never use msg in every cooking. And the food taste better and I know healthier without it. I think eating is better without msg.

Your absolutely right there is this time when my mom accidentally pour alot of msg in to her dish it tasted weird.My tummy kinda felt weird that day aswell after eating the dish.

On a home cooked meal i don't use MSG, but if you watch carefully many products in supermarket use MSG now, from noodles, snacks, and many other things... Other than MSG i also noticed many food today use food preservation chemical, i could find some food without MSG but finding food without food preservation chemical is harder.
