Is there any place in the world, where you have the desire to go one day?, maybe a far away place, that you really want to visit before you die?, in my case, ever since I was a child, I have had the desire of going to the Hermitage Museum, in Saint Petersburg, in Russia, but, so far, has been so elusive for me, something that is even extrange, because, every time I have had the chance to go, or, I have made up my mind and decided to save the money enough for the trip, something happens, I got sick, the death of my father, the business that didn´t come as planed, something that keeps me home. I wonder if any of you, mylotters, have ever had a similar experience.

Paris too is a lovely city, I hope you all can make it someday, and yes, this things costs a lot of money, we usually have to spare in some other things, I wouldn´t say more important but more immediate, and is so hard to save enough money to fulfill a dream.

I have never been to Europe and would like to see England and Germany most but I also wouldn't mind seeing several other countries including Poland and Slovakia which is where my grand parents were from. I;d also love to see Australia and New Zealand.

Are you in touch with your relatives in Poland, and Slovakia?, it would be nice for you meet that branch of the family, I guess, maybe, if even you are not in touch, find out who they can be, could make you find them once in there, I am sure they would be amazed and surprised. I also have family in Spain, from my mother´s side Great grand parent, but every contact was lost during Spain´s civil war, as long, thats what I have been told, and I have made some attempts to find long distance relatives in there. Hope you can make your trip soon one day.

I have been able to see many of the places on my travel wish list. I went to Cartagena De Indias this year, to Vancouver last year and to Cape Town the year before last. I dream about visiting Machu Picchu in Peru, the Galapagos Islands, Rio in Brazil, Madagascar and the Philippines. I have always wanted to go to St Petersburg in Russia but have not been able to twice. The visas would be £300 and the accommodation pricey.

Visa to Russia is not as expensive here, but accommodation is indeed pricey, but I wish I could go there this year, maybe in the autum months it would be cheaper, I don´t know, maybe. Machu Picchu sounds like a beautiful trip too, it is in my wish list too.

My desire to go to the Holy Land. Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of going there one day. I wanted to visit the birthplace of the Jesus and all the places that are mentioned in the Bible. I even said to myself that if I will be able to visit these places I can die peacefully. One day, I almost had the chance to visit the Holy Land. I was already at the border of Jordan and Israel. Actually , we were halfway of the bridge that connects the two countries but because of the peace situation in Israel, we were halted and advised not to go on with the journey. And we just have to follow what the soldiers told us. I thought I will already realize my dream.on second thought, maybe it was not yet the time for me to die that's why we were not able to enter the boundary. The second chance came and again we were not able to go because a week before the trip going there, there was a bus full of school children who were on an educational tour and a Jordanian soldier got on the bus and killed the children. It was terrifying that only 5 children survived. Because of that, we were not again permitted to enter. maybe my time has not yet come and so I will just wait for the right moment that my dream will come true.

That is indeed a very conflictive zone of the world, they are divided by religion and history, and there is indeed a lot of security problems in the country of Israel. It is something terrible that someone has the nerve to kill one inocent child, not to say a whole bus of children, that´s terrible and inhumane, and there is nothing that can justify such behaviour. I think that you should go by plane to the country and not try to enter by any of the neighboring countries, since there is a lot of suspicious for travelers doing such trip. Holy Land is something that all christians should do one day of our lives, is like living the story of our faith, doing this amazing trip.

I've always wanted to go to Canada. I doubt I'll ever go but I would love to. I want to visit Amsterdam stay there for a few days. A couple years ago I was going to move to Canada with my mother but we didn't make the move. It's a dream of mine to go there. I hope I'll get to make that dream come true someday.

Canada is a superb destination, of course, I have many friends there, and some have come to visit me in the past, I would like to go there someday, and I hope you and your brother can make this dream of yours come true, anyday soon. If you allow me an advise, take away any shadow of doubt from your dream, doubt is useless and only will cloud your vision, save any money you can, and one day, you will find yourself in Canada. My best wishes for you.

I once wanted to go to Australia, but not any more. Our travel dreams may suddenly disappear because our interest change. Like you, I would love to go the St Petersburg and see the Hermitage Museum. One reason I would like to see the museum is that they have cats to keep the mice away. I am not quite sure if visitors are allowed to see them. A second reason is that I would like to see the lay-out of the city. It is said to resemble the lay-out of Amsterdam. However, when I look at the city map of St Petersburg I see no resemblance. Amsterdam also has a Hermitage Museum which exhibits objects on loan from St Petersburg. This museum is much closer to where I live, and for the time being I must be content with their exhibitions.

I didn´t know about this Hermitage Museum on Amsterdam, surely I must put it on my wish list too, as well as the Van Gogh Museum wich I also wants to see. Australia and India were once places where I wanted to go, but my desire is not as strong now, although, of course, this are wonderful places worth to visit, and, I would like to go there one day, but for now, I want to go Russia and visit the Hermitage, that´s top of my list.

I've always dreamed of a tour around the world. But European countries are always the first ones on my list. This always includes Italy, France, Greece and Switzerland... and Asian countries such as Japan, Indonesia and Thailand. But so sad coz I know it will always just be a dream, there is no way I can go to those countries for the lack of budget especially for European countries.. Asian countries will be a lot more easier for me to visit. I found your experience on it a little strange. I think you would have to drop your desire of going there, it might give you a bad experience coz something has been trying to keep you away from that trip. But I am not a expert on analyzing things so I can also say that maybe we give some meaning on something, who knows it just might be a coincidence =)

When you have a dream, you don´t have to think of it as something that will always be "just" a dream, I know this things are so expensive, but not imposible to achieve, I have been doing savings and I know, I will be one day soon in that plane. Now that you mention it, maybe there is somthing keeping me from doing that travel, but, as for me, problems and setbacks, only increase my desire, I know that when you really want something you got to fight for it, and I will try to go there this year, and I hope you will doing your long desire trip soon too.
