“my binondo girl”

After my favorite soap, Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, ended , no soap opera show took my interest anymore except 100 Days.
However, one time when I get to watch an episode of “My Binondo Girl”, I found it to be so entertaining. It gives me a light feeling afterward.
I like the way, Jade ( Kim Chiu) endured many disappointments and pains just to be able to feel his father’s love , and pretend that she was Yuan, the son of her father.
Now, in order to redeem herself to her father, she has to endure being a janitress of her company.
Most of all, I like some humorous scenes like when AiAi & Cherry Pie would insult each other. One example is AiAi , refusing the offer of Cherry Pie for her used clothes when she said, it wouldn’t fit her because it’s Extra Large. To which, Cherry Pie retorted the insult with “it’s because I eat delicious foods”.

I watched the scenes of this drama "my binondo girl" and i must say the story is beautiful. I got thrilled when i first watched the trailer especially when i saw the handsome leading men. This is the first time that a Philippines have filipino-chinese drama. I like how jade (Kim Chiu) face the trials in her life. And while watching this drama i have learned a little Chinese culture.

Yes rixmabuhay, it's indeed a nice teleserye showing two cultures - Filipino and Chinese.
Oh, rix, your username really indicates that you are a Filipino, without even looking your profile.

Nope, it's not the first. The latest (before it) was Babaeng Hampaslupa on tv5 starring Alex Gonzaga.

I also find this show interesting. I love that Chowking guy, Papa Chen~
What I don't like in the show though is Kim's wardrobe. She has a feminine face but small body frame. And now with very short hair, those tank tops only makes her look like a gender-confused boy in girly sando. (is it just me? lol.)
Also, I believe it doesn't showcase Chinese culture at all. Maybe Chinoy culture is the better term. (or Chinoy drama culture, actually) There's more to China than siomai, really.

Well, it also showcases a bit of the Chinese culture, like that one wherein the Father wants a boy son, more. And Chen going to that praying area and lighted an incense.
And yes, Chen looks so handsome! And so does Andy!
And you have a point , jade looks like a gender confused boy in girly sando with the short hair. However, the short hair becomes her. It emphasizes her beautiful face.

it was good, but i think that for the girl who was left by her father and the father not wanting her in his life.. i think its too much of a sacrifice by one daughter just to get his father's love or approval. after all parents should always love their children and they do not have to fight for it.
It is wayy over board for a father who would let his daughter be a janitress just so he can forgive her? for me it is a matter of forgiving or not. if you can't give it, give time... why would a daughter have to prove anything to his father... this father by the way, left the family and never even gave anything for the daughter's education, daily living etc...
but i would agree with you that there is humor in the story and well i must admit i enjoy their lines like that too.. its funny, indeed.

Yes, the father is a bit overboard on his treatment to Jade. And to think that he didn't support them when they were growing up.
But as to letting Jade be a janitress, i think that one is more of a learning process for Jade. At least, she will rise from the ranks when she finally get to have a nice position in the company.
The humor in the show never fails to amuse me everyday.

Hi!
same here after the MLKI no soap opera show took my interest but when i learn this Binondo Girl starring KIm Chiu its kinda interesting to know how chinesse create thier family.
it's not easy begging for somebody's love and Jade doing everything to earn her father's love.
It may not be happening to chinesse family but maybe also in filipino family's.
And it's a good show to watch to learn values and cultures.

Yes, by this show we get to know some Chinese culture. We also learn how it is to fight for your right to be loved by your father.
This is a show that you will feel lighter, because the revengeful ways being done , doesn't involve killings. Instead , it's more of a war of insulting words.

lol! i do not watch binondo girl that much but i really like those humor scenes.
i just love the sight of having Mr. Chen Sy on the scene!
He's old for me but he has the appeal really. i find him handsome and attractive.
i do not watch that much becuase i do not like Kim Chiu because sometimes she over act. that irritates me.
i'm sorry that is just my opinion.

You know shane, i actually do not like Kim Chiu before. Like you said , she seems overacting sometimes.
But when i saw one episode showing Andy and Papa Chen, i was already hooked. They both are gorgeous and charming guys.
And i realized Kim has a very cute face indeed!

I really can't tell shane , if she had a nose surgery. Just like you , i just don't like her before. It's just because of Binondo Girl, that i have watched her. And yes, i like her nose it's so matangos and maliit ang base.

lol! so i think she really was irritating.
my mom would argue with me because she likes kim chiu very much and she wonders really why i don't like her my mom was thinking i was the green eyed monster. no way! i am not envious of Kim. she just really irritates me at times when she would host shows and she would have that sharp irritating screams.lol
but i say with the acting she's good. i would agree with that though there are times also when she struggles and it becomes unnatural.
now, what makes me watch binondo girl is their scene with Andy! Andy is becoming attractive for me.lol
is it really true that Kim had surgeries like rhinoplasty? i think she had undergone that because she looked different now and before. what do u think Simplyd?

Yes, it's really an interesting soap. It give the viewers a peep into some Chinese traditions and culture.
I never noticed how beautiful Kim Chiu is , until she had that short hair . She looked even younger and so naive with that short hair.
And how i laughed last night seeing Andy frantic, when he was told that Jade will again report to their company. Oh how he sprayed himself with the perfume!

I was able to watch this soap tonight because I had no choice. I got locked out of our room because I forgot the keys inside. While waiting for my partner to come home (he had another set of keys), I saw this teleserye.
It wasn't really fascinating and I thought that there were a lot of 'bad acting' in the story. Oh well, I guess this is the main reason why I no longer am interested to watch these flicks.
As for the story, I don't think it's really any good. I mean, why would I push myself in order to be noticed by someone who doesn't even care if I existed or not? Why the need to suffer all those unnecessary discomforts just for a father's attention?
Anyhow, I do hope that someday, our local movies could again compete with international soaps. Although, all-in-all these soaps (regardless what country) are a pure waste of time.
Well, to each his/her own.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Well, i respect your opinion laydee.
I think, if you will think seriously , those teleseryes are really corny and senseless in some ways. But then, those are meant to entertain , so those kind of flaws are not given that much attention.
It takes a simple person to be entertained by these type of teleseryes and i am a simple person that could find happiness just watching these types every night. As long as they amuse me with some humorous punch lines and antics , i look forward to them every night.

Hello Simplyd, I didnt watch the show regularly but I can say that it is very interesting story. The story is not purely love story like what they usually air in prime time, it's also about the story of the girl who wanted to know and be recognized by her father. She would do everything and even pretend a guy just to be with her father. I like how the story flows and Kim is a really good actress because she gives justice to her role. I am very curious on how the story will end.

Yes, just seeing those trailers you can already more or less know the story. It's a simple family story, but very heart warming. I like it , because it amuses me so much.

Hi! I also share your enthusiasm towards Binondo Girl. It is indeed entertaining and the turn out of events is fast not like other telenovelas. It is funny with some light dramas. I feel relaxed after I watched it.
Happy TV viewing to us!

I agree my friend. It never fails to amuse me every time i watch it.
So, let's see now that Jade has finally decided to say "enough is enough" , last night.
I guess, Jade will be Andy's business partner or manager in his new business to be put up that her mother has offered him.
Oh , i am excited!

And have you seen last night's episode? I laugh to myself because both Trevor and Andy are both Mama's boys.
And have you seen that scene where Piolo's yaya, playing the other janitress , nag "belat" kay Trevor?

That was a funny conversation scene with Ai-ai and Cherrypie. These actresses are totally rock every soap opera show. And for Kim Chiu I admire her acting and the way she transformed from a girl to a boy. And being a boy makes a lot of girls to attract at her, she really did a good job to be a boy in there.

i am sorry to say, that i disagree that Kim looks good as a boy. With the mustache, she looks ridiculous for a boy.
Though i can say, she really looks so beautiful in a short hair. It emphasizes her beautiful face.
And have you watched that scene again where AiAi refers to Cherry Pie as "si Extra large"
