I am just wondering why I cannot memorize the keypads of my laptop, even it it’s been for how many years that I have been using it. But as to my calculator, I had. I can calculate an equation , while I look at my note and type it in the calculator. However, maybe because my years of experience handling a calculator is way too many as compared to my using a laptop. But I also can type at my cellphone without seeing the keypad. I guess, it’s because it’s been so many years that I have been using one too. And that’s one reason why I still prefer it over the touch screen type . Hmm. . . . What about you guys?

I think that have memorized a regular keyboard as well as the keypads in my laptop, of course I have been using them for many years and use it on a daily basis for almost 8 hours at work and more at home while doing homework. I am also very familized with keys on a desktop calculator, since I mainly work with budget and accounting. But I am not good at the keypad in a phone, never have been and trust I have been using cell phones since I was 15 years old. I never really thought about memorizing it.

Actually as to the cellphone's keypads, i didn't intend to memorize the keypads. I just noticed as months passed that i did memorize it already. Good for you, that you already memorized the keypads in your laptop. I guess, i am contented with typing fast through my two middle fingers.

I did have some typing lessons in college. However, i didn't get to practice them well after that , so when i had my first job, i again used my two middle fingers to type. And since that time the things i type are just some few codes it didn't bother me if i didn't memorize the keys on the computer's keyboard. But for the calculator, i did, because they are just few keys anyway. However, though i memorized the calculator's keypad it's still the middle finger that i am using.

I started of that same way, but I did however take a few typing courses in college (both typing and computer) and they required that we utilize both hands when typing so that pretty much set the foundation after that it was just practice and working in office enviornments that did the trick.

There is a special way, to be typing, without looking at the keyboard. I learned how to type, when I went to high school. It did not take long, within a week, I've been able to type without looking at the keyboard.

Wow, really! In one week's time , you learned that. I must say, that if you are really interested in what you are trying to learn you will surely learn it by heart. I think, i don't have that interest when i took the typing lesson in College. My father even let me take it summer before College, but i guess i just obeyed him but wasn't interested with it. So, until now i still type with my two middle fingers. But mind you, i can type fast.

its another case with the keypad of the laptop coz the placing is like that of the type writer and that theres a proper way to do it and that you should learn it by heart and rreally practice it. Im also learning the typing tutorial because its important and useful if you are always using the computer. happy typing and happy mylotting. have a nice day and take care.

You have to learn the rules, the correct position of the fingers and the letter that it will type. There are free online typing practice which includes games. It would be easier to type words when you memorize the keypads of your computer.

You have attained perfection in typing calculator and cellphone.I reckon It is because practice makes perfect. If you type the keypads of your laptop as long as you type calculator and cellphone, that is by no means inferior to them.To my shame,I am slow in all that.

I guess, my laptop's keypad is a lot wider because of other keys than that of the calculator and cellphone. So that's why i never ever memorize it at all. However, i am not that bent in memorizing the keypad of my laptop, because i can still type fast even with my just two middle fingers in use.

Yes, a calculator as well as a cellphone has lesser keys than a laptop's keyboard. So, that's why it easier to memorize. But i guess, it will be difficult for me now to learn how to type properly because i am used to using my two middle fingers .

Dear friend, My typewriting classes during my college days had helped a lot in typing keyboard in desktop and laptop. But for I had not yet memorized keys on my mobile as it is qwerty type. May as you suggested prefer touch screen type. May soon those we need to type would be done while we speak it.

I also had my typing lessons when i was in College. Though, i must say i didn't quite memorized it yet, even then. So, i guess that explains it. However, at least i memorized my calculator's and cellphone's keypad.

Have you ever studied how to type correctly? Do you know what fingers should be used for each of the keys? If you are familiar with this there's no need to memorized it because the fingers will tell you if you have pressed the right keys. I have been using the correct fingers from the moment i touched a type writer and that was when i was 7 years old. My grandfather didn't allow us to use the typewriter unless we use the correct touch typing. So i was trained as early as 7, i don't have to look at the keyboard every time i type.

wow, really ! You did that at an early age. My father had me study how to write shorthand and some typewriting lesson. But then, i forget the shorthand eventually because i don't get to use it. As to the typewriting skill, i wasn't bent in learning it. And when i had my first job at the bank, i use my two middle fingers until now to type. But like you said, i think i have to train myself using all the corresponding fingers. Or maybe just be contented with being like this, because anyway i can still type fast.

Wondering why you can't memorise the keypad of your laptop??? Hmmm I think you don't give it much importance.I see this is the only reason why you can't memorise the keys.I had to take a typing class in high school to help master the keyboard.I can't say I'm great with the top row(number keys) though, and I do tend to make mistakes as I type, making me use backspace at times.

I too, had my typing lessons in College and even before that. Unfortunately, i didn't take it seriously, so i was still not good at typing. Yes, you are right, i am not really bent on memorizing the keys of my laptop. I guess, it's because i can type fast even with my two middle fingers.

I've been using the keyboard for so long and I still can't memorize it, I still make really silly mistakes I tend to type really fast and my fingers just go little crazy and slip up a bit. But I can never type without looking at my keyboard. I remember seeing a few people able to do that, they can type like the speed of light but simply stare at the computer screen, they don't need to stare down at their keyboard. When I type I just stare at my keyboard and type away and then when I'm done, I then edit what I just wrote. I wish I could just type away and not have to stare at my keyboard. I have memorized the calculator too, I need to use it often during my Maths class, so I can plug in some numbers real quick. I remember sitting an exam next to a friend and I started smashing the calculator with my fingers and my friend next to me stared at me

i guess, the calculator keypad has lesser keys that's why we memorized it sooner . And also the cellphone too, it has lesser keys than our laptops' keypads.

Funny thing is,I did not formally study or memorize the keyboard but as to years of using it,I have found my way easily in using it.Its just that my fingers can easily find the keys it wants to press..Hahaha!We had this optional tutorial in college,on how to memorize the keyboard but after days (yes just days),I stopped coz I know I'll be able to memorize the keys even w/o formal study..lol %-)

Yes, actually by constantly using the keypad, you will soon get to memorize each key. That's what happened to my calculator and cellphone that i have been using so much longer than my laptop.

I haven't thought about memorizing the keys on my laptop. But I pretty well can type fast even without looking on the keyboard. Some of my roommates before even asked how am I typing so fast. But I can't actually memorize the keys of my smartphone, the keyboard is really small so typing without looking on it really hard. =)
