If you know that your time is near, would you be ready for cremation? Cremation or burning of the dead is becoming a popular option for our beloved ones. With my father's death a few months back, his siblings are pushing us to have a cremation for him. It would be less painful in our pocket and they could bring the ashes to the province so that other family members could pay their last respect to him. But we stand strong with our decision for a burial because of petty reason but I'm sure my father would want it. When he was still alive he wanted to die peacefully but still good looking. How could that happen if we let him to be burned? He has so many apprehension with regarding the process because he saw some of his closed friends on the said procedure. He think it is unfair because the body is already dead but like killing it once more through fire.
One of my officemate told me earlier this day that mourning for a piece of jar seems to be senseless. She wanted to see the body of the person in attending a wake. In my opinion, I would choose a cremation for a dear one if he/she would ask for it when he was still alive. But if he/she did not ask for it, I would opt for a burial even it is far more expensive.
What is your personal view regarding cremation?

I would definitely go for a whole body donation for my near ones and myself . I am planning to pledge it offically very soon . It is a great pleasure to think my eyes and other organs will help somebody live a better life . It may help in future study and research in medical science .

It really depends on what level of society you belong (class A - rich, B - middle class, C - poor). If you're quite loaded, you can always set it in any manner that you want. You can even "combine" them if you wish. Keeping the body untouched for mourning then cremating it for burial. But for the middle classes and the poor, it would really depend on the situation. Cremation is really not that cheap. Whereas the traditional burial come in different packages.
Well if it is for me, I prefer being cremated. Acquiring a good resting place is way more expensive if it's for a whole body. Being practical for the people I left is the last thing that I can give for them at the very least for my burial expenses.

I see nothing wrong with either. It really depends on the person. For me personally, I would not want to be cremated. I want to have the traditional burial. people who wants to be cremated have lots of reasons and most of them are actually towards there loved ones.
