Hi anusha
So we meet again.
Well, I am not quite sure where you stay but if that is in India, I must say that you are quite lucky that you didnt have an experience of power cuts. Here at my place, they are quite a common thing to happen and there are hours that we have to live without power suply. Many have opted and purchased generators, backups like inverters but I am still ages behind

I consider that to be an awful experience. Funnily enough, humans have survived without it for generations but once you're accustomed to something, it is a part of your life. There are times where if electricity goes out for about a day around the time where I am here, everyone rather is going to lose their mind in a glorious, glorious manner to say the very least. It is rather chaotic around here.
I dread when it does happen, as it does happen at the worst possible times. In fact it is just something that I consider to be a rather huge headache. Granted, it is not the end of the world when you really think about it. However, it is a rather agitating thing when you have work to do on a computer and thus there is no electricity. So yes, it is a bad time. Not to mention that if its out for too long, the food in the fridge could start to spoil which is costly.

Are you traveling now? If you are traveling in underdeveloped or developing countries, power outage have become part of every day life, moreover the era you are still visiting is far from the city, then you will often feel power cuts without notice from the power source provider. May be for you, it's kinda like wonderful experience to have, but for those who often feel it become common and even dull.

It is interesting that this is the first time you have experienced this. Generally we do not have power cuts unless there are huge storms with lightning or when they are doing maintenance but it is normally a few hours at most, but it going on and off at times for most of the day for a few minutes at a time happens when there is a lot of rain. This can be annoying as electrical appliances and gadgets may suffer damage - I had severe issues with my computer because there was a time when every time I switched on a my computer it would go down damaging the hard drive. Well I hope the problem has been solved and that your electricity stays on.

Hi,
It's really frustrating when there is an intermission of power supply especially when we need to get our daily chores done. Of course, none of the electrical home appliances is going to work. There is nothing much we can do but wait for the restoration. I am no exception. One fine day darkness too me by storm too.

there was an period in my country when we always had power failures and almost everyday we lost electricity during the evenings. thank God with the change of leadership we were able to get out of that phase.
It's not that bad, but I wouldnt like to go back to that time

Thankfully my electrical interruptions are usually measured in hours only. However about 12 years ago, I did have a storm roll through that interrupted power for 4 days.
I have battery powered lights as well as a TV and radios. I also had a generator to keep my refrigerator operating so no food was lost.
It was actually a fun experience to be without full power for a while. All of my neighbors were outside in the evening as it was warm, so good old fashioned face to face communication was in favor again. Sometimes we all need to "disconnect" from the wired world every now and again, and we usually only do that when we are forced to.

yes we experience that after 2 consecutive storms that hit us. Funny to say but sometime I appreciate the effects of having no electricity. I find myself to enjoy listening to a battery operated radio and I appreciate also the mosquito coil I thought it wasn't effective but yes it is.

I went through a couple of days a few years back where we had no power, and I have to say that it wasn't easy in the slightest to live without it. It just makes you realise that we now rely on electricity for pretty much everything that we do in our lives. My family couldn't even cook our dinner without our oven, as it was powered by electricity, so we had to eat cold food for a couple of days; or simply go out for meal instead. It is a shame that we have become reliant on something, as things were a lot better before this was the case.

I can't remember when was the last time we experienced long black out.
But,yes it takes two days due to storm that knocked down electric post and needs time to restore.
Last night we also experienced a black out but only for few hours, more than 2 hours I guess.
Have a good day

Which experiences? No electricity or bad and different? Kidding!
First time? wow~ I experience it whenever there are storms in my country. I must admit that now it's different without internet connection, tv and sometimes media players. Before, what we do to beat boredom is to share jokes and play indoor games. Before we even notice it, electricity's up and running again.
There was a time though that our main switch broke, which left our lighting system damaged. I was a kid then, I couldn't recall what happened. It lasted years before it got fixed by our electricity distributor.

Yes a lot of times since I was a child. Up to now whenever there are big storms and great winds, power would be cut off, maybe to prevent some dangers that might happen. There was a time when I was young and our place was greatly hit by storm, with floods everywhere... I remember there was no electricity for at least a week I guess. It was really hard and we need to rely for food supplies from the government. I hope that won't happen in our place again ^^
