Have you tried to google your name or any variations of it that you use? I have. I was bored and had nothing else to do online so I thought "Why not?". What did I get?
Well, if I use my full name, I don't get anything. There's nobody else with a name like mine.
If I don't put one of my other names, I get three people with the same name in facebook.
If I use my married name, I get a few hits from linked in but not much else. Some are in a place as far away as Ghana.
Ha ha ha. I guess I'm not as popular as I thought I was. :)
Come on, try it and tell me what you get!

That you can't find your name doesn't mean it is nowhere. It depends on where the name is registered and what kind of policy the site has. Will is hide your name or make others able to see you joined it.
Perhaps you are lucky. Googling someone's name or email adress can give you a lot of information about a person and you might not like what you see/read. So be careful where you register on the internet and with what name. You are seldom that invisible as you think.

When I search my current married name it comes up with a few things. One is actually me on classmates.com. The other two are different people. When I search my maiden name it shows my facebook account and classmates and then some of my relatives names.

Yes, i have tried it, out of my curiosity. I have found out that there are many women out there who have the same name as mine. I was quite surprised because i thought i'm the only one who has this kind of name.hehe..I also discovered that my name is also the name of a town and municipality in one of places of Southern Region of Brazil.

I get myself quite a few times from when I had it published on my websites. There are several others too with the same name. All seem to be American which is strange as my surname is historically British and rather rare. Where are all the Brits? Probably I haven't gone through enough pages - it does get boring after a while!

hi:)
yeah I also did that once, but unlike you, there are so many people with same name as mine, only in my country maybe it's already more than 50, so since then I always include my maiden name, so that people can easily search for me especially on facebook.

I tried this and when I typed in my name, a lot of people with my name popped up. My first and last name is quite popular. Most of them came from another state though. My friends tried googling their names in goggle images and they have found so many shocking results! They saw images of people they wished they were and people that they never would have thought had their name. It's pretty fun and sometimes my friends do it at school. It's funny when you try to stalk people with the same name as you, to see whether they are actually like you and have the same personality.

Yes I did it once and I am surprised that I got most of my work online. I just gave my online used name but not full name. Even I tried with my full name and it's working based on the form of data stored. It showed my full name too in one website where i registered with my full name.
