I couldn't believe what I heard and saw in the news..a 2 year old girl was hit and run 2 times and was passed by more than a dozen people and they didn't even bother to help! If it was in our country, at least the people would lock to the injured, and even if the ambulance was late, the people would try their best to help him or her and even stop the culprit from getting away..

I have heard of this news too- maybe it was because of that incident before that the one who helped was the one who was accused of hurting the person..he even paid a sum of money even though it wasn't his fault. But I agree, they could have helped her or moved her to the side so she won't get hit again.

yes, that is the main reason that they did not help at all- because of that unfortunate incident before.. But still, that was really horrible of them to think f themselves first, than the dying child they see.

amazing how this story has circled the world (i am in Canada). they interviewd the Chinese students that attend our local university and they seemed to think it was because of the economic conditions in China (which are getting better) and think that with better economic conditions come callousness.

It's good that technology is very advanced and information can easily be passed around, since people need to know this kind of situation which does not only happen in China...Maybe the people have become so focused on progress that some of them don't care about the people anymore.

I saw that news and it was really horrible and shamed for those people who just passed by with the child without helping that child. Does anyone see that kid laying in street? and they even not try or bother to see or look what really happen why the kid is in the street, yet another truck hit her again. I was really sorry for those people like them, without taking care of someone. The first thing or even the least thing that we should do if we dont wanna get in trouble is atleast call someone who can help or an ambulance and dont let another vehicle that will pass by to that road, so it may prevent again to hit her, but what they just did is to pass by.

I don't really know if the second truck that hit her knew that he hit someone, since the truck was big and couldn't really see if there was a child. I feel angry at the people who just passed by her- they were so heartless.

When I saw the video, the first thing that I said to myself was, "It's just a doll. It has to be a doll." Because it was so awful I could not believe that it was a real human being in that video. It was truly disturbing. Okay, let's say their laws prohibited them from helping the child, but couldn't they stop and keep the child out of (additional) harm's way while they tried to call for medical help? How could they just pass by the injured girl? Could it have something to do with the gender of the child? That just crossed my mind now. I heard that these people aren't very fond of girls. I am not sure. I hope not.

I could not watch the video properly too since I keep thinking about what the girl was feeling. And yeah, they prefer boys than girls there- but I don't think think was the reason. maybe it was because they were afraid to be blamed for what happened.

An awful thing to say the very least. Not just the child being hit by a car. That very fact would make this story more than bad enough. However, the fact that so many people decided not to help. I mean its one thing not to help an adult who had suffered this fate. It's not acceptable, but it just seems even slightly more unacceptable to say the very least. Then again, this is just another instance of people not caring about anything that does not affect their own life. It is really does say something about the awful nature of the world. It really does say something about people, when they refuse to stop for a brief moment to do what they can do. Even if they can't do all that much to help, at least they should do something. It really does sadden me but it does not surprise me at all. This is what the world has come to in the end.

It happens, the legal system is so screwed that people have to think a million times before even bothering themselves. Like what if the police hold the person who helped the kid responsible (It may be an act of GUILT)?

yeah, people have become so cautious these days that some of them are not even willing to risk a bit of their time in helping someone in need..

This is really sad and disturbing. Those people who passed by the child without helping are definitely heartless. The culprit should be thrown in jail if not in hell.

I thought I have the courage to see the video so I've searched for it. I can't watch it. I don't think I can handle to see such a thing. I have a baby and hopefully nothing bad happens to him.

Yes, the culprit was arrested, thankfully. He was such a careless driver, he wasn't evne driving that fast and the girl was clearly walking slowly but still he run into her and even realizing that he hit a kid, he ran and hit her again..

That reason is very unacceptable..although some drivers here in our country I heard, would do the same. Because he has intentionally killed someone, I don't think he will feel guilty abut it at all.

Oh my gosh! This is so awful! They should really change their laws. It would seem as if it's every man for themselves. Aren't they scared that if it was them in the position, no one would help them out as well?

Yeah, even if it was a kid who was in trouble, they even left her there, without calling someone for help, they could have at least called an ambulance. it is such a harsh world there, people should be more careful since only a few are willing to help nowadays.

Yes ,i read this shocking story in yesterday`s newspaper about the 2 year old girl who was knocked down by a vehicle and was once again run over by a truck.People passing by did not even bother to look as she lay bleeding on the road. Finally a woman pulled her over the side of the road. The child is in hospital now but is comatose. In my country people would gather instantly and would have taken the kid to a hospital and not only that would have got the number of the vehicle and given it to the police. This incident shows the indifference, callousness and low morality of the people belonging to that particular country.I won`t name the country but those who have read the article will know where it took place.

My countrymen would do the same thing too- they would even chase down the driver if they can. Some people did lo at the child but just stared, and then hurried away..like the girl was just a toy!

I wonder where this was and why no one stopped to help. This is horrible. I guess it depends on where this was and what was going on in the erea. Was this in the US? I don't know the who's, why, where and all of the rest so who is to say what may have happened to this poor young child.

This happened in China, and it wasn't a very crowded place, it looked quite deserted. An incident happened before that a guy helped an old woman and he was blamed for it, so maybe people there were already afraid.

I also read this on yahoo news. It's very tragic. In my country, also there will be many people who helped. I do not understand, what they think, so no one is willing to help.

Yeah, when I saw the video I was teary-eyed.. I can't believe how people could just pass by her. There were even parents with kids, they just looked and hurried away- they didn't even think if that thing happened to their child.. Gd thing there was one god Samaritan, but sadly she was too late.

Yes, I also hope that they learned their lesson, that their eyes were opened and this incident would not happen again. I feel so bad for the mother, t lose her child in such a way. The child could have been alive still,if someone got to her earlier.

I don't think it has to do where you live. Its more about the people. People are always in a hurry now and they are all about themselves they don't care about other people to often unless it has to do with there own child then they want someone to do something. Any time I see a little kid hurt I stop and try to help if its need it.

I kinda disagree on this one. Based on what I read on various comments (not quite sure about its credibility though), there was a case in China (yes, this hit-and-run incident also happened in China) where a person helped an old Chinese when it fell down somewhere then this old Chinese sue that person who helped and the court decision was kinda like this "it's normal for the person who made the crime to help the victim". So in China, this is now a law. Some says that if it were not because of the CCTV camera, the lady that at least helped the kid were to be sued.

The society there is sick. I wish they'd think if it was them in that situation, no one would be helping them out as well. It's like every man for themselves. Even kids has to take care of their own selves, which isn't even right because they're still young and they have to be protected by someone else.

Swirlz the child does have to take care of themselves at some time. You can't be with your kid all of the time. Its the parents job to teach them to look both ways before trying to close the street and walk on the side walk. A lot of parents don't do that. Also have your child walk home from school in groups if your not with them yourself. Well in the US things are different anje016 if you hit someone and go your in trouble. Someone around here where I live will stop and help if they have seen what happen because you won't get into trouble for helping if you saw something. If you did see something and left then you can be accountable for the crime so most people will be good smaritzes because of the smarties act. It really just. The person that did the hit and run will be in more trouble then someone that doesn't help out. It really just depends on the person and if they will or will not help. Some people have no first aid training to they would be no good to someone hurt especially a child because it takes a certain person to keep a little kid calm and still.

Ah yeah. the people said that those who helped someone often was the one charged of the crime they did not make... that is why they are scared to help victims. But i agree with you, it obviously looked like a hit and run victim and how could someone walking be charged with the crime of hitting a child. I saw this video and there are about 18 passersby that did not help the child, and the child was hit again by another car because the child was on the street!!!

This is very ridiculous, to blame someone who just wanted to help..And what is the use of those security cameras? It's so easy to see who the real culprit is by looking at the video. It really shocked me too how people could just leave her there.

Hi lady1993, This is really awful. It looks like people nowadays are so materialistic that they have stopped caring for each other. What a terrible and inhumane act! For heaven's sake its a two year old kid. It amazes me how heartless and cruel some people can be.

Yeah, they would rather pick up a dollar than an ailing child. I sure hope they learn something from this and don't do it again. The woman who put the kid to the side of the road was given a reward, so maybe they would be more helpful now.
