finding my dog a mate

My female dog is in heat, her name's Panda. Now, I have a friend at work who has a male dog of the same breed (Shih Tzu), named Borj. When we got them to meet each other, Borj was in it but Panda just wont permit. We're wondering what the prob was, since Panda seems to go flirting with my male dog at home (which is a Japanese Spitz). Do you have some tips? We're planning to have them meet again this weekend.

if you ask me, just let them be, and if they 'like' each other, they will do what they want to do, pushing them is a bad thing and will make them less of a chance

Thanks. Yeah I think that will be better. The next time we'll have them to meet we'll just put them in the yard. I hope they'll do it eventually. I'm excited to have new puppies!

Please spay your dog. There are so many unwanted pups in the world without homes and also do you know anything about genetics? If you do not know anything about the grandparents and great grandparents of the dogs you are mating, the puppies could inherit genetic problems. if you want to have a companion for your dog, spay her and then adopt another female (or a spayed male) and they will live in harmonious friendship. Dogs do not think like people about having a love partner. They are pack animals and like companionship from people and other dogs but they are not unfulfilled if they don't have pups. Also, your dog is not "flirting" with your other dog...she just wants to play.
