Shakespeare, in his Hamlet said "Be wary then; best safety lies in fear." Today the unexpected calmities, natural or man procured leave us in great disaster and trauma. The earthquakes, Huriicanes Floods conspiracies and terrorism render our feelings feel unsafe. It is when the episodes hit us then we feel fear and take all the measures for safety. Until then we never learn. Even though someone powerful or insignificant man gives us a pre warning mojority of the people will never pay attention. It is also for the reson that many predict disasters and they never take place. We are born to live without fear and feel free. But the freedom has been so much misused today. It is when we live in fear then we wake up and perhaps we are too late and we have to pay a heavy price either by suffering or by undergoing deprivation. But when we live with freedom and without fear we never pay attention. We never feel the necessity for seeking safety.

I don't think we are born to live without fear. Fear is necessary for survival. If one never learned to "fear" one would never survive childhood. Disasters, both natural and man made, have always been with us. Some of us learn, some of us don't. Today, there are many who are trying to be prepared to meet disasters with stocks of food and water, others are trying to find places where they can safely live in times of political or cultural upheaval. These people are responding to fear in a positive way which will help their survival if/when a disaster occurs.

I think i can interpret that quote as; we should always be prepared in life for any eventually that may strike us. That way, when the calamity is already there , you have at least some preventive measures or tools to use. It is the fear that makes us prepared for any disaster or the like.

This is true! when we are in fear we are made to make a chose quickly. When we do that we usually go on our gut instinct which is known to be the best way to go.

People already live in fear since ages. And if I have to believe the bible the first people already lived in fear and were threatened by god like church already is threatening their believers. Seems to me nothing has changed in over 2000 years and your theory is not working. We just go on the way we are used to, we only are shocked (or say we are shocked) for a short time. Why? Because we love our habits and we don't really care especially not if it doesn't really concerns us. And even if it does, sooner or later it will be normal again and we forget what happend. Perhaps we are born to live without fear and to feel free but I don't think you will find many people on this earth who are really free of fear and who have their freedom. As long as there is always someone who loves to be in charge there won't be any freedom and fear will always be there. If we don't seek for safety it is because we already know that those who will or can harm you will find you anyway sooner or later. The world is full of envy, betrayers and it's not mother earth/nature that is trying to destroy us first.
