Those Unresolved Discussions...Best Response!

I just clued into the unresolved discussions the other day. I actually didn't know what I was suppose to do with the "unresolved discussions". I at first thought that maybe I didn't respond to all the discussions and realized hey I did... Now what! I finally clued in that I needed to choose a "best response" to resolve the discussion. Easey Peasey Right? Wrong! Do you know how hard it is to choose a best response? First you read everything, then you read some twice and then you choose. Sounds easy right? IN some cases yes, but in others it's right hard. Some of our wonderful Mylotters have good advice, wonderful insight and are excellent writters. So then you sit there and look back and forth trying to pick the best response between two people, sometimes its more and it gets hard. How do you choose to give a Best Response

I have not started many discussions and I suppose someday it may be difficult to select. Usually a well thought out response, one that appears to contribute well to the topic and or one that grabs my immediate attention. There have been times I thought more then one should have been selected, so I just made sure I rated them properly.

yup, I found that too. I read them twice and ho-n-hum then make a choice, I always give everyone a +plus unless its so outlandish I have to get the parakeet to explain to me! Oh apparently your 10¢ has been upped to a whole whopping 20¢, this just proves that your valued advice is good stuff ;)

I have several unresolved discussions as well. I always think of going back to them but never get around to doing it. Some of the discussions I don't feel like going back to because some are five years old and I was a totally different person then. I find that I now feel differently about some things I said in the past.

we all grow and changed! That's a good thing because it means we progress as a person and hopefully become a better person!

Where's the People Eater when you want him, he will know all about this one. I have some recollection that you get paid for getting one? and perhaps giving one? Lash

Not sure, I've read so much that I am naturally confused now! As for Purple he's probably spinning records or mellowing out somewhere. I've given a few out, gotten a few too. Not sure if you get more or not! Hmmm!

I generally read the responses and the one that helped out in the discussion the most or had the right answer to fit the needs of the discussion is the one I give best response to. your right sometimes its hard to pick one. Specially if there are over 3 to 5 responders. it can be a bit overwhelming but I think there is a key word in someones response that we kind of take to heart and that is how they come to get the best repsonse.

Yes my friend you are right very hard to choose best response from unresolved response. When I was choosing the best response with in 2 days then mylotter tell me Surekha this is not under rule and after that I forget to choose after one week and they goes in unresolved category not it is difficult to spend time for it.

I too find it very difficult..many replies have value...I think giving a + to some of the responses is a way to help resolve the problem of only being able to choose one best respnse.

Same, lots of replies are valuable, and choosing a best response makes it seem like I'm saying 'Er, sorry, but your comment? Not what I needed.'

I think a lot and take all points into consideration while selecting the best response. As I'm new here and have less friends, it's not difficult for me I guess. I just see if they have responded to-the-point, whether they have mentioned all point that I had asked for, if they are clear in what they are saying, whether their response is useful to me or makes sense in general etc. Yes, in one or two discussions, it was hard for me to choose but I chose the one which was more elaborate.

I would always want to give best responses to my discussions. I really have lots of unresolved discussions still because there are discussions of long ago that i forgot to mark as such. Hence, now i resolved that if there are already at least 5 or more responses , i will now choose who amongst the respondents who gave me the response that i liked most or suggested the best advise.

hi there amyfyre! i have only two discussions here in mylot and then they remained unresolved. i do not bother tagging someone as best response since i am more concerned on how others would feel if i would choose the best response. i appreciate every ideas shared in my discussions. so in return i would rate them + regardless if they disagree or agree with me. and then i would express my gratefulness to each of them by responding to their comments. i think that's enough.

I am a new member at MyLot. I have never made the discussion. Maybe, I will also have difficulty, to determine the best response. Is a must for us to choose the best response?
