What time do you usually get up in the moring ?

After I started the new job this June, the working time starts from 8:45, 25min later than my last job. But due to the company is far away from where I live, I had to get up at 6:30 and walk about 15min to get to the bus stop, then about 1hour to get to the company if no traffic jam. Now there's a new subway station near my apartment, no need to worry about the traffic jam, it takes approx. 1hour to get to the company, then now I change my alarm clock from 6:30 to 7:00. The no-traffic-jam subway saves another 30min for me to enjoy sleeping. But the bad thing is every day I have to stand in the train, and rush to exchange another subway line in the half-way, while to take the bus, if I was lucky enough, I could get a sit and have a short nap on the way. Until the weekend, then I would wake up naturally if no special arrangements. For your part, what time do you usually get up in the moring ? Please share your thoughts.

I wake up really early in the morning just before 4am because metro manila is known for miserable traffic conditions so as much as possible I wanna travel going to work before 530 am so I won't get stuck in the traffic which usually starts around 6am.

On working days I used to get up 7:05 am and leave the home at 7:45 and will catch a train of 8:19 and will reach the destination at 9:45 and at 10:00 I am in office, ie 0:30 mts. late every day in office as the office time is 9:30. As I am late for 30 mts., it is a mistake and it should not be repeated again. So, I will leave office at 6:00 pm sharp as I can catch the train of 6:21. However, there is no time on Sat &Sunday, but not beyond 9:30. But I used to sit late nights upto 2:00 am and now also it is 1:10 after mid night and I thin I should stop now and need to get up at 7:05. Good night, no good early morning. Thank-s

Oh I really dislike commuting in the morning so I make it a point to work near where I live or live near where I work. The morning commute is tiring and one has to wake up very early. As for me, my work starts at 4:30 in the morning. Early, right? Well, I get off work at 1:30PM so it's not a problem for me. It's just not a schedule that people would consider normal. Since I start work at 4:30 then I wake up at 3:30am. On some days I get up earlier but normally it's 3:30. I leave the house at four. I just take a shower, get dressed, and leave. I don't bother with make-up or other things, I do them in the office. My office building is very near that if I were to drive, I'd be there in 5-7 minutes. However, I take public transportation so I have to walk about 2 blocks from the house to find a vehicle to ride on. The said public transport vehicles also make lots of stops for passengers to get on or get off, so that also takes time. I get to work usually at 4:25.

You're right, it's better choice to live near work or work near living. Maybe one day I'd consider to change a new job if I'm fed up with current situations. You know what, I like the way you are doing, do not bother and wasting too much time on make-up. When I'm in the subway, because there are a lot of people, it would me very uncomfortable if there's a person with heavy make-up beside me. :)

Yes, if you like your job, try to see if you can find a place to live in the same area. If you don't like it much, maybe you can find something else that is nearer your place of residence. I guess a person with heavy make up will just seem interesting to me when it's very early in the morning because I'd be wondering about how early this person got up just to paint her face.

I think i am so familar with your commuting life, it is horrific, especially in Summer. I am lucky than you. I can arrive company within 5 minutes by walk, and my work time starts from 9:30, so i never worry about the time. But i don't like get up late. Normally, i get up 6:30, so i can have a walk and enjoy the fresh air, read book for a while, and make breafast, when evrything is ready, i go to company. I never worry about the traffic as others, it is lucky i think. :)

sexyice, I know what you mean about losing sleep because as th day go on you try your best to stay awake but then your body is so tired because of how long you stay up, so in time like this you don't need to drive.

Hi there, for me i couldn't stop myself from staying late at night maybe until 12:00PM, when I have a phone conversation with my GF. Although it might be a little bit late, still I feel more satisfied to hear her voice. :)

I am a muslim, so i woke up at 04.30 am, having to carry out the morning prayer. But to get up with that early morning, it feels really helped me in preparing for every activity that i will live every day. When i woke up so early, usually all of my activities will be scheduled and can be implemented properly.

I usually wake up at 7:30 am every week day morning. I have to get to school so I always set my alarm to that time, get ready in half an hour and get to school by car in about 15 minutes. Unfortunately, in a few weeks my Dad will be starting his day shift at work from then on and I have to take public transport to school in the morning I probably have to get up at 7 am and then get ready before rushing to my bus stop which is like a 15 minute walk away. On weekends, I simply just sleep in and relax. Not alarm squealing in my ear and disturbing me in my beauty sleep! I'm no morning person so I'm pretty groggy when I wake up early in the morning. I prefer to wake up and just lay there for abut an hour before my brain starts to work.

You're so lucky as a student, also lucky as a student not in China. You know what? When I walk to the subway station, that moment around 7:00AM, on the way I could see a lot of students are having breakfast in the foodcourt along the way, waiting for their school bus, or several childs get together in a car and the parents take turns to drive them to school. So I'm wondering, oh those little childs should wake up as early as I do, and I heartly sympathize with the kids.

I don't have work right now, so I usually wake up around 8 or 9am. But with my last job I usually wake up an hour before my time, because I only live a few blocks away (15 - 20mins away). I hate commuting so I make sure I live very near my workplace.

What now I'm suffering is living in the suburban area of the city while the working place is downtown. The living cost in downtown is too much more than in the suburban area even with the transportation cost considered. To save money, I have to keep suffering this kind of life for quite a while.

Hi,benwang! I met the same thing as you one year ago!But now,our company has changed place since last year! Then I can get up in 8:00 because we are on duty in 9:00.It take me 30 minutes to take bus from my house to company ,and if I go to company by tube,I must spend 15 minutes to get to subway station and then just only 15 minutes to reach my company! So,I usually go on duty by bus as the same reason as you,I want to go there sedentarily!^_^ benwang,I advise you should make a move because it takes so long to go from your house to your company!

Hi JulyKing, after went through your comments, then I checked your profile and just like what I guessed, you are from China too. Then there's high possibility for us to encounter the same situation as it's more or less the same in the cities of China. The reason why i keep living that far away from my company is because where I live now is more nearer to my GF's company. So I'd like to let her save more time rather than only consider my own problem. :)

I wish to wake up by 6 a.m but sometimes I wake up and most of the times by 7 -8. But If i wake up 8 I feel like lazy . So I try to wake up early. it depends on my sleeping hours at night. If I sleep at 10:30 - 11 I wake up by 6. But because i am in hostel it became a task for me to go bed early . :-(((

I do not have to get up early. I think I'm more fortunate than you. I sometimes get 6.30 or 7.00. I also sometimes wake up 7.30. I happen to live not far from my workplace, so I can be more relaxed. Moreover, the furthest distance is only 15 minutes by bike. I live in a small island called Gili Trawangan, Indonesia.

You're so lucky and I admire you. Also for me, once, about two years ago, I lived near my working place, while it only took about 10min walk from my apartment to the office building. I enjoyed a good time during those years. And hopefully some day i could get a new job like that. :)

I get up at 4:30am from Monday to Friday to take care of the needs of my family like hot water for taking a bath, coffee and breakfast and what they are going to wear. When everything is done, I then wake them up.

Usually as a wife and a mother, she is respectable for the selflessness. What you do for your family is almost the same that my Mom has been done for my family. I still could remember when I was a student, she woke up very early in the moring to prepare breakfast for the family. After everything has been done, she woke us up. My dad told me and my brother, you guys should remember everything your mother has been done for your guys for ever.

I wake up at 5.30am. I find it better when I wake up early. If I wake up past 8.00am, I spend that day feeling like I don't have energy that is why I wake up early.

Wow, you wake up so early, and maybe you go to sleep early at night. :) Sometimes for me, if I go to bed very early, for example, 10o'clock, then I may wake up so early and cannot fall asleep anymore.
