Westlife Splitting!

It is official, the boys band consisting of Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan will be splitting.
After 14 years, 26 top ten hits including 14 number one singles, 11 top 5 albums, 7 of which hit the top spot and have collectively sold over 44 million copies around the world, 10 sell-out tours and countless memories the band made an announcement of their plan to go separate ways. But not after, a greatest hits collection this Christmas and a farewell tour next year.
It is believed that after the split, Shane Filan is planning to pursue a solo career, while Mark Feehily is keen to write songs for other artists, Nicky, is hoping to venture into the radio DJing world, while Kian, who is set to welcome his first child with wife Jodi Albert later this year, will be looking for more television opportunities.
I've been a fan of the band since it first came into the music scene and like many fans will be sad with this news. I hope and wish them every success for their future endeavors.

I like their songs very much!! I thought the splitting took part years ago and everyone of them do their own thing but suddenly they have their stage performance here last week if I am not mistaken and I said, 'Oh they are still together?'..Never mind their songs will always remain in my heart.(^^)

Like you, I like their songs since they came into the music scene, as well.
I think the earlier split you mentioned was probably the departure of one of the band members - Brian McFadden, and not the entire band.
I wonder if what it might have been if they did not decide to split especially when they have so much potential as a band all this while.
Since, they have decided - I suppose we will just have to wish them all the best in their future endeavors and undertakings.

Yeah, I thought so that hen Brian was not with them anymore and they have no new songs so that's it. A bit surprised that they actually still exist. I would say that they are one of the best groups that give so many good memories in music industry. But since their popularity and their new songs are not like before I think it is better for them to split..

I just learned this news from you right now. What a shocking news, but it seems that most bands will have such kind of ending. It may not be a good opportunity for everybody. Since some people can become much more famous when they separate from the band. I hope Westlife members will have a brighter future. I like some of their songs.

This is really sad indeed and though, I had hoped for them to remain as a band - I suppose that there's no such thing as endlessness here.
They are such a great band and so much potential in each one of them. So, let's wish them all the best here.
