Since I work in Sales, my boss ask me to list my dreams & goals. She told me that I have to make two list. One are my dreams & the other should includes my goals in life. At first, I got a little confuse -- "Is it two different thing?". I search on the net and got a few description of each. Dreams are not realistic, generalized by nature while Goals are realistic, more focused, should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-based). I thought that after getting the definition, I'll be more confident to list down my assignment. But it just makes it more confusing. I am due to discuss the list by next week & I still haven't started.
I need your opinion on this, please list down your dreams & goals. I want to be enlightened on this. Thank you for your time.

thats an interesting question larish, whatever you do don't list one of your goals as being to replace your boss!
i tend to see my dreams as being long term goals, but i suspect what she wants is a list where goals are work related and dreams are things you want to acheive within your personal life, like a big house with a swimming pool, or bringing world peace or something like that.
i'm not sure if our dreams aren't private things that we should share by choice rather than being told to, but never mind, this is probably one of these new fangled management ideas where they want to understand and develop your motivation to help you acheive the right sort of goals within your work.
so just play the game, and give her the answers she wants.

I hope after few years we started rise new own house. But it is just dream and sometimes dreams don't come true... But I hope.

I understand you. How about your goals? What are your goals? You see, my problem here is how to list my goals and my dreams. My boss told me that there's a difference between the two. She needs my list next wednesday for us to discuss. Hope you can help me analyze the difference between the two. thanks.
