hello friends,
its said that a lot can happen open a cup of coffee,I feel nothing less could happen over a cup of tea too.But subject matter of the discussion is a bit different from what all can happen over a cup of tea.
There are various kind of tea available in market these days naming, green tea, regular tea, Darjeeling tea, lemon tea,ice tea, ginger tea, masala tea, mint tea, etc etc.
And most of the tea have their own health benefits.as for me I prefer ginger tea in winter as it keeps my body warm.
So what's your favorite flavor and what are the health benefits associated?
and if you feel comfortable, share an experience about something that you remember happening over a tea.*woot*
meanwhile have some cookies till your brain is fetching out memories from the past.

Hi Khare!
I think having a cup of tea is only an excuse for interaction. When we take bed tea or evening tea at our home, we discuss some important and some trivial issues.
I remember a visit to Taj Group of five star hotels in New Delhi with me better half for a cup of tea. That was the first or second occasion, when I visited such a high-end hotel all alone. Of course my better half (then my fiancee) was also on her first visit to such a place. We both were nervous, while entering. The purpose was to interact and spend some quality time together. The cup of tea was only an excuse to enjoy the ambiance of the Hotel .
Any special incident, which you may like to share, which would have happened over a cup of tea?

You could be there (Hotel Taj), whenever you happen to visit Delhi next time (it is adjacent to UPSC) on Shahjahan Road (near to famous India Gate).
I helped you recall your college days and that particular tea stall, where you and your friends would discuss about studies.

I am a lover of tea. I start my day with a cup of tea though I used to have a cup of coffee first thing in the morning for the first 30 and odd years of my life; once , a long time ago , I had to take homeopathy treatment for some chronic complaint of mine when the doctor advised me to take tea instead of coffee. Ever since that I have tea in the morning.I make very good tea, and make the spicy powder myself. FOr my regular morning tea, I have crushed ginger in this tea irrespecitve of whether it is summer or winter. If I use Taj Mahal then it is elaichi [cardomom] instead of ginger. When I have a cold, I have powdered ginger, coriander, cloves and pepper in this.WHen the mood takes me I make mint tea ; if there is availability of fresh orange peel , I use this along with mint leaves .If my s on is at home and he asks for some speical tea I make tea with cardomom, clove and cinnamon powdered . Milk must be boiled fresh and must be added to the brewed tea; To me tea starts my day.It is fuel for me to get to my usual routine work and I would not do anything else before having this first cup of tea.I would sit and sip my tea for more than 5 minutes and it must be boiling hot.I hate to get up from my chair before the last drop is over. Another important thing is that if I have some small infection in my system which is likely to flare up as fever or soemthing the first indication is from my morning cup of tea--I won't like the taste of tea at all.Recently I was not well and it took more thna 15 days for me to get my usual taste for my morning tea.
I do not have anything particularly special about anything important happening over tea, but I can share one thing; when my son was a small boy, I used to take his lunch to his school and this was plain curd rice usually. On the odd day he had a cough or cold, I used to take a cup of tea along with his lunch pack.It used to be in a small tumbler flask and I would also take an ornamental porcelain cup along with this; his little classmate and her mother used to sit along with us and they were fascinated by this cup.

Yeah! I am quite innovative when it comes to making tea. Orange peel is added after the black tea is made .Just add one huge two inch long peel to the black tea and clost it with a lid. YOu can add milk and sugar later. It is a different flavour . this is not my favourite ; it is only a variant. My favourite is ginger tea.
And for further a tip, you can mix three different brands of tea in equal proportion too.

BTW, regarding hlath benefits, ginger, pepper powder tea is good for cold and lemon tea without milk is good for stomach upset. Hot tea with podered cloves , is good for headache.[ You are a doctor isn't it? And ehre I am giving you native home remedies.

you have a cherishable memory associated with your tea and that special porcelain cup.
and i am amazed to see you can make so many variants of this drink.i know to prepare only a few using cardamom, cloves, black pepper, ginger and tulsi leaves.
you use orange peel for tea?is it milk added tea?how do you prepare it?i would love to have it someday.

hi khare ah yes I remember drinking cold green tea f rom trader joes with my son 'Robbie after coming home from having surgery . I had the most ginormous gas pains so my son heated my green tea and told me to sip it and the warmth would dispel the gas pains and it really worked. also i was giving my body health benefits from green tea as its an antioxidant which helps your body and your health too.also he had bought some sugar free small lemon cakes from dolly Madison they were so good. it was a lovely time before he got fired and our lives were all twisted up.we are slowly getting them untwisted now. thank God for that.

I am not much of a hot tea drinker and when I do I prefer Chamomile tea. I find it very soothing and calming but I don't drink it too often though.
I have had moments where I have felt a bit on the nervy side and the Chamomile tea clams my nerves down some.

hi HWG oh I love clams too but did not know they would calm ones nerves lol he he had to tease tonight I used to drink chamomile tea when I was a bit upset as it did calm me too. I love ice cold green tea which I used to not like but got used to Traders Joes as it was often flavored with some mint. mint tea settles my tummy when its upset.Hot Darjeeling tea is good too and so is Earl Grey .

It is so cold in our apartment as our landlord is so cheap with the heat. This weekend I am going food shopping and will pick up some Chamomile teas. This will be a brutal winter and being that our apartment is always cold I think I am going to need some warm tea to comfort me through it.

Hello Khare,
I don't like tea/coffee much so its not an essential thing in my life that i have to take tea.But of course ginger tea is commom we take in every season. My mother made masala tea once i liked it but no one in my house supported me so it got banned from my house from that day only.
In office sometime when i am not in a mood to have a tea i like to have lemon tea as it tastes a bit different and bit refreshing though i am not an addict like most of the people who want tea after time intervals.

i don;t consider myself as an addict, but my day is not complete if i don't get to have a cup of tea.moreover if i am on a journey(and as i usually travel through our own 4 wheeler),if i skip my tea for long,i get headaches and then i need it badly.or else in my daily routine, its not a problem if i do miss it sometime.
my personal favorite as i mentioned is ginger tea and i don;t like plain tea at all.
masala tea,i too tried once but i didn't like the taste,so its almost banned from my household too.

We have always been tea addicts and the best of them at that. And so for a while it used to be Lopchu whole leaf from Darjeeling which has the flavour of the fruit lychee. I like pure tea without any other flavours added to it. At the moment it is Taj bud sadly one hardly gets whole leaf tea these days.

My favorite tea is herbal tea. I sometimes drink green tea with no artificial flavor. As I love to go and gather herbs myself from non-polluted areas I always have healthy tea. I also have some herbs for tea in my garden. Some sorts of tea in the market may be from cultivated herbs. I must check my tea is natural.

A cup of coffee can make a lot of difference . If we have any type mind depression, better have a sip of coffee, it releases our depression very quickly.
A month before, i had an urgent one to one meeting with my manager. I was so tensed about that, since it was arranged all of the sudden. One of my team mate called me for a coffee. I went her to have coffee. After having that sip, i felt a relief and the meeting went in good way !!! Finally i thanked my team mate and Of course the sip of coffee !!

Green tea - reduce depression...
Regular tea - enhance your morning needs( clear the way of toilet)..
Darjeeling tea - makes your brain work, to get rid of sleep...
Lemon tea - keep stomach warm and prevent from digestive diseases...
Ice tea - it regulates the body temp...
Ginger tea - clear your respiratory problems...
Masala tea - regulates the digestive enzymes...
Mint tea - it also regulates respiratory problems and clear all mouth problems...
But apart from that it always makes you feel good, it says," A GOOD RELATION CAN BE BOUND WITH A CUP OF GOOD TEA, AND A CUP OF GOOD TEA COMES FROM A GOOD RELATION OF TEA AND IT'S MAKER" So I always like to cup my tea my own....

Choosing a tea in a mood shows that you know tea better and you can consume it...and now you know tea, it'll better work for you as you wanted to work it whether it is green, regular, lemon, or whatever....

Ginger tea you say? I have never seen it but it sounds like something I would definitely like to try. Thanks for the good suggestion!
Other than possibly this ginger tea, which sounds great, I love green tea, without milk or sugar. There's something so... different about the taste in your throat.

Hi khare
I don't like tea and even tea smell. But before 2 years I was with my friend and she told me to try lemon tea. It was really dam good and I liked that. It won't smell like tea and gives you so much relaxation when you are under pressure. And it helps you to control body weight.
