Do you rate you movies on netflix?

I always rate the movies I watch on netflix, mainly because I don't want to watch the same movie more then once at times but I also really like that it keeps track of how many movies you have rated so it can give you an idea to how many movies you have seen. I have rated to this day 1,543 movies! I think it is neat to know how many I have seen. So do you rate? How many have you rated? If you don't how many movies do you think you have seen?

Hey sassygirl! I LOVE netflix! I don't even watch regular tv anymore because I get everything I need from netflix. I always rate movies that I've watched. I think at last count it was somewhere near 900, but I've seen SO many more than that. When I'm picking my movies to come by DVD through the mail I have a system of choosing them. I go through my recommendations and start rating everything. If it's a movie I've never seen then I put it in my queue! I've seen lots of excellent movies that I never would have watched otherwise that way. Amelie, for example...a wonderful french movie that you should check out if you haven't already :)
I like rating them because that's how netflix determines if it should recommend a movie to you. Based on your ratings it tries to find other movies that are along the same lines as what you seem to give your highest ratings to. The rating system seems to make it easier to sift through the thousands of movies that are out there and find something you like!

I have seen Amelie come up as one of the movies i can choose for instant play but I have yet to watch it, but I will be sure to check it out. :) I love the fact that they recomend movies based on your ratings, I have totaly found some good movies I would have never seen. One thing I wish netflix would do is have it where you can search for movies that will be taken off soon, I hate that the only way you will know if it is going to be removed is if you add it to your queue.

I could have sworn that if you scroll over to the movie, underneath where it tells you the title and such, it says if and when it will be taken off. But, then again, I could have seen that when I was scrolling through the movies I already had in my queue, haha!
I'm excited that they are adding more movies to instant stream, but I wish there were more options than instant stream or DVD. Especially now since they raised the price for both. I think that they should put in a third option to upgrade your account or something and have all movies available through instant stream, but pay a higher price. Something along those lines would be nice. I would gladly pay like $20-$25 a month if I could do away with waiting for the DVD's and just have every movie they carry available through instant stream!! That would be amazing!
Have you ever used Hulu? They have lots more to offer than netflix, but you have to watch like 45 second commercials. I got a free trial through my xbox live and I hated it. Thank goodness netflix doesn't do that!

Oh, I like the "leaving soon" category idea!!! Maybe there's some sort of suggestion area on the netflix website where you could send that to them?
