If all out war is effective, then why did Marcos and Erap's all out war failed

All out war of Marcos and Erap...resulted in thousands of dead but no end in sight for Mindanao conflict. Some people posting in the internet are calling for an all-out war after what happened in Basilan and praising Erap's remark. Do you know what an all-out war will mean? It means we are back to square one in a vicious cycle of retribution and death in Mindanao. It will also mean the economy may take a hit since foreign companies may see this as signal of instabilities. Sometimes the best way to win a war is to use your brain instead of your anger. This is also the reason why Bonifacio lost most of his battles while Aguinaldo won most of his. I still believe in letting the peace talk to continue, while the government also continue reforms in military to weed out corruption and make sure our soldiers are not sent in battles they cannot win.

The problem is those MILF guys just keep on backstabbing the Goverment. The Government and MILF agree on ceasefire then MILF breaks the agreement and attacks. Their alibi is either it is a lost-command MILF or Abu Sayaff attack. We can agree with peace talks but, man, those MILF guys are just keep on breaking the peace agreement. I think they will do anything just to seperate from the Philippines and form their own Islamic country.

I just kept on wondering to where does Mindanao belong.... is it from the Muslim or from the Christian? I think Mindanao, the original is a Muslim Country.... it's only the Christian Invaders who put a religion in exchange of gold and the reason why Lapu-Lapu killed Magellan... Is Spanish Christian really the Invaders? to Where does Mindanao belongs? I think it is right to separate Mindanao from Luzon and Visayas.... then the people in Manila if they want to go to Mindanao they will ask a passport VISA first in order to enter Mindanao.... that's the reason why MILF wanted to separate the Mindanao from Philippines is it fair? even Spratley Island is from China? oh my God, that is another story....

But the MILF or Muslim believes that Mindanao is for them and we Christians are the once to cultivate their lands in Mindanao... i just wonder why most of the Christians that migrated to Mindanao are came from Visayas Regions.... even Cebu is all a Muslim Island before but Magellan Invaded it... now, Spain is already out of our country because we win the war before the Japanese Attacks.... I think it's time to let go Christian Beliefs as part of Spain propaganda to help invade us and back our faith to Muslim... do you think that until now, we Filipinos are still under the control of Spaniards? the answer is thru Christian Religion.... but i am still a Roman Catholic, and end in Roman Catholic Faith.... i am just listening and comparing their MILF thoughts, maybe they have a valid reasons too on why until now MILF are still there, maybe MILF is correct.....

No, it is not right. We are all Filipinos - Muslims and Christians. Mindanao belongs to the Philippines.

Now i remember the fable story in titled: "The Wind versus the Sun" where the Wind challenge the Sun in a battle if who among them can release the jacket that man wears is the true winner... the Wind blew as hard as he could... the trees uprooted for the forces of air.. that no matter what force of blowing to flew that jacket a man wears, that man only hold tight more on his jacket not to flew... so the Wind got tired and accepted that the Wind can't released that jacket a man wears.... so the Sun in turn shines brightly as he could.... tremendous amount of heat temperature is all over the place and the man who wears his jacket full of sweat and tears to all of his body so the man immediately remove his jacket therefore.... gentleness can be more powerful than force.... meaning.... i agree.... i'm convinced.... Peace Talk is the only solution rather than All-Out-War

Love your enemy as you love your friends.... in order to bring peace to eternity.... we as a Christians should do what MILF wants... what they want is to separate Mindanao from Luzon and Visayas.... and that is supposed to be happen.... let Mindanao be separated to Luzon and Visayas.... and enjoy peace like living in paradise....

LOL, that is the difference between the Government soldiers and MILF terrorists. The Government soldiers' battlecry: "LOVE YOUR ENEMIES!" The MILF Terrorists' battlecry : "KILL ALL INFIDELS!"

The insurgency that is currently happening in our Southern territory has been a threat to the political and economical stability of the country. The operations done by our previous government was made not just because of anger and hatred but because of substantial reason that have threaten the sovereignty and integrity of our country. The need to show the insurgents that we are capable of defending our democracy through armed confrontation is needed to send out a message that we are ruled by law and those who go against the rule of democracy needs to be punished. If the government will not act decisively, the insurgents will have the impression that the government is weak thus they can bully it around to meet their demands. There is a time for everything and the time of talking had pass. We as a people should support our government in aiming for a greater peace by letting them do there job even if it means through armed confrontation. The operations done by marcos and erap was not a failure. Their operations had brought renewed hope in Mindanao. Although people may say otherwise, these operations allowed the opening of the land to commerce and agriculture. New roads were build and other infrastructure were made. Sadly we can only see the bloodshed that it brings not the other side of the story. Sometimes we need to go to war so that we may have peace.

I agree with peace talks but if the rebels would break this I just hope that soldiers there are always ready to fight back. They should revise their tactics in there: secure and defense if necessary. We never knew what rebels really think and they can decide whenever they want.
