So the other day, I received a text message from a friend of mine. We had been texting back and forth when I received a text from her that had nothing to do with what we had been talking about. So I replied and asked her about it and she responded "oops, that was for someone else. lol" I am so glad that it was not anything personal or naked pictures. Have you ever accidentally sent a text message or picture to someone that it was NOT intended for? OR have you ever received a text message that you were not supposed to be the receipient of?

Hi mindym, Yes, I received and and did wrong sent messages accidentally not only in mobile phone but also in yahoo messenger! Its good I have no secret to reveal, lol. About mobile phone, I have this interesting story, know what... my father's message to his mistress accidentally send to me so I was shock he has mistress! I don't know what should I do at first but I finally decided to text him informing that he was sent to me the message intended for his mistress and he have no way to deny it but because I am in my good heart, lol, that time, I keep it as secret to my mother with accompanied warning to my father to depart from his girl.

That is a devastating message that I'm sure you never wish you received. I would hold a grudge against my Dad if I found out he had a mistress. But the grudge would be bigger if I found out via text message that he had a mistress. That puts you in the middle of a not-so-good situation. I hope everything works out for you and your parents.

hehe just reading this makes me laugh already, because I have some funny yet hurtful experiences through receiving wrong sent messages, like when I received a wrong sent message from my ex-boyfriend. he said in the text that he will pick me up and that he miss me " that I know not intended for me because he just dropped me off a few minutes ago, and I checked the time of sent and it's just after he dropped me off. so sometimes that kind of things is also helpful:D

I have also sent a phantom one...actually I have sent more than one. Sometimes I will be texting fast and hit the send button too soon. I have been trying to get my Dad to text, so sometimes he will send an empty one. Thank goodness I have never sent a text to someone unintended, but I understand that it happens.

Oh yes some days ago I was very mad with my sister because was calling her by phone and she was busy and didn't take the phone, then I called too but she didn't ake the phone either, we thought she was talking with her boyfriend and was ignoring us,at the end she called me and told me that she was in church and didn't hear the phone, and I said that she should call mom because she was worry, she said I will now, then I sent a text messege to my mom telling all what she told me but as soon as I sent it I realized that I sent the message to my sister, OMG I was very ashamed that she realized that I was just getting information from her to say it to mom,lol at the end I said that I was sorry.:)

Yes I've tried sending messages to the wrong number many times already. But there was this one time that I could never forget. I was texting my friend about someone that I was angry of but as a result, I sent it to the person I was angry at. When I faced that person that day, I just couldn't bear it. I didn't know what to say. But after that incident, we still talked to each other.

I don't know if I could bear it either. That's why I think it is important to confront the person you are having an issue with. However, I do know that is easier said than done. I personally do not like confrontation, so I am guilty of venting before confronting. But I have not vented about someone else via text message. It's good to hear that you are still talking.

Oh this reminds me of about a year ago, that I received a text from a good guy friend of mine. He lives several States away and he at times calls and or texts me to see how I am doing. Well I read the message and was so puzzled as the text message said, "Thank you for being so kind, you could have at least called me to break our date".
I was like what! Firstly he and I have never dated, and or ever had any intentions of doing so. Then why would I get this type of message when we were not even in the same State and or made any recent plans. So I debated should I call, text back and thought about what in the world did he mean.
So I text back saying "What?" He immediately called me and apologized saying this one girl and he had a date and instead of her calling him she text him burning him one hour before the pick up. He says my name and hers were so close together that out of anger towards her, he accidentally selected mine.
LOL you can imagine that laughter I had then the sad feeling for him to be stood up via text message.

One thing that I do not like about texting is that people, the younger generation, especially, use it to communicate for EVERYTHING, so they are losing their abilities to communicate face to face or on the phone. Communication is a huge part of life and texting does not always get the point across. Well, unfortunately it did for your friend. I do not know him, but he does not need to be with someone like that anyways. Thank you for sharing your story!

Wow, tell me about it. My mail was actually very comprimising and it went to who shouldn't. I went all 007 to stop the person from reading it and it worked. My heart stopped! I liked the guy and I was talking about him to a girlfriend, can you believe somehow the message went...TO HIM? He never read and thankfully it was a crush that went away.

What are the odds that it would be sent to him? It seems like it was a crush that was not meant to be more than that. I can only imagine how you felt after you realized it was sent to him. I'm assuming you are more careful now on checking on who you are sending your messages too. Thanks for responding!

I'm always afraid I'll text the wrong person with something I shouldn't! Especially with my new LG Optimus, this happens a lot since the texting can lag and it's all touch screen. A lot of my friends who have Androids accidentally text me the wrong thing. Never anything serious, but it's sort of irritating, because I think I'm getting a text and then I find out it wasn't even for me. What a bummer! I'm usually afraid I'll accidentally text one of my parent's something I shouldn't. Luckily it's never happened and I'm very careful so that it won't happen! I'm sure it's happened to a lot of people!

Thanks for sharing! That would be irritating to think that you are receiving a text from someone, only to find out it wasn't intended for you. Luckily if I text my Mom something, she won't have a clue how to check it. Not sure what I would do if my Dad received a text from me that he shouldn't have. He would probably just call me to see what was going on. Thank goodness my parents are cool!
