I'm counting on the electronic cigarettes!

I quit smoking some time ago and kept hoping my husband would stop. He tried to stop a few times. I had suggested the e-cig and he said no way he didn't like the idea and didn't think they would be any good. I know better than to nag someone about quitting. I think my patience paid off... Imagine my surprise when last night my hubby came home with an electronic cigarette and he actually likes it. He still prefers his regular cigarettes, but can admit this is a good alnernative. We'll see if this lasts...there was a promotion for $7 for electronic cigarette so he decide to try it.. It's quite interesting...he doesn't smell of tobacco anymore. The patio doesn't reek of stale cigarette smoke...I think I can reccommend this product to all who are thinking of quitting..I wish I had had this aid

First of all i would like congratulate you for your success my friend.. I am trying since 10years asking my father to quite smoking.. but my father never listens to anyone regarding smoking... I have doubt regarding the e cigerates.. Are they cancer causing agents???I had read this some times back...Do you have any idea???

anusha2128 ..Thank you..and let me just suggest if you keep asking someone to quit they probably won't listen. My kids and parents did the same with me. I had to decide myself and one of the side benefits was ..my kids and parebnts will be happy. The decision has to be all your fathers.. When I suggested e-cig to my husband he said no way. I was going to buy him some as a Christmas gift but told me never to buy them even as a gift because he wouldn’t use it. Well I was going to anyway hoping if he has it in hand he won't be able to resist trying it.. The e-cig is water vapor and nicotine. Nicotine is said to cause cancer, but what doesn't?...The advantage is all the other poisons in regular cig are not present in an e-cig...so in theory they are better. Mostly I look at it as a step toward quitting smoking. There are some inexpensive promos..my husband bought his for $7. If I were you, I would buy it for your father. It's worth a try...

huilichan8 ...yes it's been out a few years now and so far they hasn't been any studies that I am aware of that claim they are worse than regular cig and there are many advantages to them.

huilichan8 can you buy things off the internet? I know they are sold there and there are some inexpensive promotionals for them.

Oh I see...but I don't think it's sold here in my country. The US is always or almost always ahead of other countries in terms of technology, etc.

Isn't it funny that it is not a good idea, unless it is their idea? I hope this is helpful for him. I bet the fact that you quit is an inspiration to him as well. It is nice when the smoke is all cleared out of the home and area.

GardenGerty LOL I had not thought about that but I am so delighted I don't care...I have quit for a few years...he talked about quitting and tried, and just couldn't. I said ...as a hobby... he should sell them and be a testimonial for their useage......hoping he will continue using e-cigs

]ANTIQUELADY Why not try the e-cig? There are many promotions now. My hubby only paid $7 and if he is successful, this will save a ton of money and eventually maybe he can quit...I am counting on baby steps...[em]happy[/em

Yes E-cigs have helped some people I know offline. I tried it and there are no smelly aromas and or lighting up. If one is determined to quit E-cigs can be a good alternative. Best of luck to your husband and hope he can quite smoking.

I think my sister tried if for awhile. I don't know if it worked or not I haven't seen her in awhile. But she said it was okay - at least not terrible or anything! I hope it lasts for your husband. Maybe he will end up being healthier.

macdingolinger, Thank you and yes that is what I am hoping too! I was so surprised when he came home with one. I was also almost tempted to try it..lol it looked kind of cool... he puffed on the 'cig' and formed water vapor clouds... I resisted because I had a hard time kicking the nicotine habit and I really don't want to go through that again.
