What do you think about myLot changing the active pay policy?

I logged in tonight for the first time in a while. I saw that my earnings had gone to 0. That was unexpected! After a little research I found out that they policies have changed and if you don't log in for 90 days you lose the money you earned. This is a somewhat new policy. The last time I logged in (which I had thought was more recent than 90 days but I'm wrong it looks like) I had money from over a year ago that I had earned still waiting for me. Do you think the new policy is fair? Do you think they are doing it to try to keep everyone active?

Had you read the Terms when you signed up (as everyone has to confirm that they have done when joining), you would have been aware of this. It has been in the Terms since the beginning and is not a 'new' policy at all! I believe that it may have been added to the FAQs more recently, however. http://www.mylot.com/o/terms.aspx

It is so much easier to blame myLot for changing their policy

I signed up YEARS ago and this wasn't the case then. Like I said, even a few months ago I still had money from back then. It was much, but it was still there. If it's been in the terms since the beginning, it hasn't really been enforced, at least on my account, until recently. I understand the change. It's not a complaint or disagreement with it. I'm just wondering what others think about it.

That's interesting, I will have to make sure I post at least once a month in that case. I know it wasn't like that 3 years ago or whenever it was I started using this site. I'm not sure how I feel about it to be honest. I think it sends the wrong message - which is - we will take away your money if you don't give time to this. With all the people who come here and write multiple crap discussions because they are trying to make money, I can't understand a policy like this. There should be policies instituted which help encourage quality people to post and keep posting, even if from time to time they have a life and can't post here. For instance, if you are a new user or your rating is really low, then maybe I'd say if you go inactive fairly quickly and don't come back for months, then sure, delete the earnings. I just don't think this is fair for a longtime user, even if they are not very active. Considering, a longtime user has a lot of discussions and responses under their belt and have probably contributed to countless other people here in some way or another.

Personally I always thought it had been if you do not post in 60 days they remove your money, but it could be 90. But this is a Good thing as otherwise they would have money sitting there from people who long have forgotten about here for sure. It is an encouragement to keep people wanting to be active here but yet being Fair to those who might not be able to be active in here as much.

I thought that it was always that way, for ninety days. But perhaps I could be mistaken. At the very least, it was there as long as I have been posting on this website. I think that even if you just log in once a month and maybe do a couple of decent posts and log out, that really should not take more than five minutes. Unless you have been trapped in a cave without Internet access for about six months or something like that. Still yeah it has always been the policy. Which is bad for some people who somehow find themselves without Internet access but life does tend to interject at the worst possible times. This is why if, heaven forbid, I ever get tired of myLot and need to get away, I would do what I can to reach the payout for the month, so that gets settled and then pull away. But yeah, it has always been ninety days at least. At least for the two years I’ve been here, likely longer.

Don't worry, just keep active here on the site and you'll earn that money back.

I think it is reasonable. The plus side is it will free up older accounts. I am sorry you lost your earnings and hope you can get them back again cheerfully as you post and enjoy the mylot community again. Just logging on after an absence is enough I think to keep an account active and that is part of the terms now so yes fair.
