Do You Think Future of an Individual Can be Predicted

When I was a child and into adolescence through early adulthood, I met several palmists, astrologers and holy men who could tell about me, my past and future with uncanny accuracy. I believed them because what they told me used to be quite remarkably true. As I have grown up in life, I think I was gullible enough to believe them. With mental maturity, I feel future cannot be predicted and those who actually told my past and were usually correct because I think some how the past of an individual has been traversed and is within the conscious memory of the individual and someone with acute mental powers can possibly literally steal those information. However, since future is not yet made nor traversed, nor determined, can never be known with the same accuracy as the past. Do you think future is predictable?

I think that we all have a predetermined paths and there are some people who can read the "map" if you will. I don't know how to explain how they do it, but they do. Just like they know what and who you were in a previous life. I read somewhere that when we experience "deja vous", that is the universe's way of telling us that we are on the right track in terms of our maps.

Well, provided that we're talking about predicting behavior of a particular person in the near future and within a very limited set of circumstances, then yes, it can be predicted. But since this is not really the context of your story, i.e. predicting the whole future of a particular person, then, no, we can't. There are just a lot of factors involved and we can't account for them all.

I have had my share of the same too with people whom we thought can actually predict the future. My mom liked these stuffs too, but I guess for me, i have yet to meet someone who is actually very good... some are telling me what i have gone through, but some are not accurate and are telling me general stuffs and things i already know! :P
I have yet to conclude if there is one person i can meet perhaps that could tell me good readings, or actual predictions that would come true.
There is just something about that, it puzzles me and it makes me feel excited so liked it.. i liked to believe the good things will happen and of course will try to stay away from the dangers...

For me truthisgod! wow your name reveals that God is truth. I guess you believe that the real truth is only God knows. Yes, i do agree with this statement. No such thing or person can predict the actual happening of the future not unless if he is guided by that supreme divine SPIRIT the HOLY ONE who is capable of knowing the exact situation. Perhaps in some other way they can tell what will happen in the future but not to the extent the accurate one. Prophets are one examples and other gifted people. The most important thing is that we should not rely on prediction alone instead we should do what is good and best for us to make our life worthwhile in the eyes of men and of GOD.

I think our future changes in each 5 years, we have completely free will and responsability for our life, there's nothing to blame and the choice is our own so according to each choice the shape of the future must change. If the future existed we would be actors and there would be no meaning in living.

I don't think so. There are so many variables and possibilities concerning the future that there is no way to know what will and won't happen before it actually does. What happens 5 minutes from now may have a very huge impact on your life 20 years from now or it might simply be one of those daily moments where you do what you are doing out of habit or necessity. How a child behaves does not offer an accurate prediction of the adult they will become.

Some times in some situations what the holy people say can be in some wasy true but not everything they say goes that way they tell.
Some times only that works.
i also went to many palmist and astrologers, but i felt that went what they said but i could not catch it becasue what they say can be thought for but not to be implemented in the society we are living.
Future can not be predictable. It never goes the way we think it to happen.

Hi! I believe some have the power to predict the future but I do not know where their power comes from. I trust my future to God and I am sure that in time He will really come back and judge us. Only God know the specific happenings in the future. At present ,let us do things that will glorify God and serve humanity in any way we can.

I think to some extent the future can be predicted. I mean, I can predict that next year a President will be elected. And unless something unprecedented happens, that will occur. I couldn't predict with any certainty who will be elected though. I could guess and maybe I'd get lucky. Or I could analyze the facts, and perhaps get lucky again. But the future cannot be predicted with complete certainty no matter how routine and predictable it seems to be. If an alien civilization made contact with Earth tomorrow, we couldn't have predicted it (except by luck). And that event in itself would change so many other variables on Earth that, chances are, any predictions that had been made for that day/month/whatever would be unfulfilled.
When it comes to predicting the future of individual, it is equally difficult and impossible. I think that when people get prophecies, etc read to them that do come true it is because of a combination of luck and vagueness of the prophecy itself. (Vagueness makes it easier for a prophecy to come true because the chances are increased.)
