I hope in some point in my life to have a big yard for a dog. Otherwise I feel they are just trapped. If I make it i want to have a golden retriever. They are beautiful and very good with people and especially with children. I also like chow-chows but I don't know about their attitude. Anyone???? What kind of dog would you get? And I mean get and keep, because I hate people who buy them and set them loose after they stop being "cute puppies".

I want a labrador retriever!
I also want a dog like the one
in the Hachiko movie. It's very cute and beautiful.
Even it has grown up already
it still looks cute! I still care about my pets
even if they stop being cute puppies. :)
I want dogs who are very very sweet and affectionate.

Haha. But we should still love them
even if they grow up ugly, right?

Oh yes, both very cute. I agree with you too. I like dogs who are beautiful as they grow. There are some really ugly grown-up dogs. Chow-chow is one...

I like dogs and cats very much especially when they are small. No matter to which breed they belongs to but i love all of them. The way they show love on humans i like the most. My husband also love dogs very much but in our place especially in our street we are not allowed to keep dogs at houses.. This makes us very unhappy....

I can understand why it makes you unhappy. But I think the dog would be unhappy if it didn't have place like a yard to play in. Maybe you can get one if you move to a different part of town.

My husband works for Indian navy.. They provide us house and other facilities. We can't move any where else because of security problem...I will definitely have a dog after his service and enjoy with that...

According to what you are telling us, it might take some time (years?). But someday you''ll get it. And you will enjoy it the most. Do you have children?

This is exactly the question my sister and I asked each other before we got a dog and now, there are 5 dogs and 9 puppies. We have 1 given dog who just had 9 puppies last week, 2 pitbulls, 1 german shepherd with 25% siberian husky breed, and 1 yellow labrador retriever. My very first wish was to have a labrador but since she never came first in the list, we got a local breed dog from a friend firs and then the 2 pitbulls.
It really depends on you as the owner on how much time you can give to your pets because that's how they will grow to be, loving or aggressive. It's how you are being responsible enough to give the love and attention that they will grow to become your desired dogs no matter what breed. I never realized that I will have different types of dogs until we got them and I am thankful that they get along fine. Most of our dogs we got in about 2 months intervals and it has been more than a year since we got our first dog. Hope your wish will come true about getting and keeping the dog that you desire in the near future! (^_^)

Yes, we have a big yard. And I share your sentiment about closed in a small space. They have their own cages but we only put them inside whenever they're in for time out. LOL...We try to keep the dogs inside the house and let them play together whenever we feel that they need to get some exercise. We also go for long walks in order to release their energy. It really makes a difference whenever the dogs are free and they get to tire themselves by the simple exercises and the walks that we take. I am also happy of the thought that I can sweat off and have my own exercise at the same time!

Thanks. 14 dogs? That means a lot of food! Do you have a big yard? Because I hate to see animals closed in a small space.

Our dog is a golden retriever, and I think it is a wonderful dog. He is two years old and we have had him since he was a puppy. In the beginning he was a very, very energetic dog and he always wanted to play and run around in the house or in the garden. Now he is a little older and he has become a bit more calm, but he still loves to play. We moved to another house in the beginning of the this year and our new garden is bigger than the garden that we had before, and he loves the new garden. Before we bought our dog we talked about different breeds, but I am happy that we chose a golden retriever

That's why I am thinking of buying a golden retriever, because I saw a show on TV (dogs 1 on 1) that they have very good characters. They are very nice company.

I have learned that a big dog is too much for me to handle. But, I don't want a small dog either. I would get someone medium size, like a beagle or a cocker spaniel.

Is it true that they have a temper? I mean do they sometimes attack people?
