I've took quite a long rest from reading a friend let me borrow her copy of Mitch Albom's "For One More Day". I've been a fan of Mitch Albom after reading his "Tuesdays with Morrie" and "The Five People you meet in Heaven". His works are easy to read and the best of it all, readers can easily relate to the context of his book.
"For One More Day" tells the story of Charley "Chick" Benetto and how his life went to the downside. He's an alocholic, his wife and only daughter cut their communication with him, he wasn't invited to his only daughter's wedding and he tried (but failed) several times to commit suicide. As he staggers back to his old home, he found his mother there. Only this is, she passed away 8 years ago.
What would you do if you were given another chance to meet someone whom you consider to have a very important stand in your life? This is a very touching book. Definitely worth reading.

I have heard of Mitch Albom's books too and they are quite famous and a movie has been made about them. Too bad I have not read any, I haven't really seen any copy in books stores but I shall try and search it in the internet..

I love Mitch Albom and I find his books very inspiring. I have read tuesdays with morrie, and For one more day. I also recommend you to read five people you meet in heaven.
I think i would want to be able to meet a friend who passed away. I would want to have a little more time with her, cry with her and just feel that she is with me because we shared so much, we are good buddies. she is an important person to me.

This is just so true. I don't know where my copy of "Five People you meet in Heaven" went too since it's missing in my book shelf I'm looking for someone who can let me borrow his/her copy. The book "For One More Day" really made me cry. Others may find it too emotional but then, they aren't aware that in reality, this is really happening.

Oh, it does sound like a good book! I have it in my book case, but haven't gotten around to reading it. I may have to bump it up on my list of books to read. I can't imagine what it would be like for that to happen to me. Seeing my Granny again? I have so many questions to ask, and I'm sure she has plenty could teach me! It's a lovely thought.

This book is worth reading because it somewhat tell the readers how important it is to live. To add, the book tells quite a lot about children-mother relationship and the pressures and hardships of being a mother

I read that book and as usual, it was a tearjerker. I'm a big fan of Mitch albom and I try to read his books when I can. A friend of mine recommended it because it was about mothers. When I read it, it was about so much more than that. I would recommend it to anyone.

I was crying while reading the last pages of the book. There are incidences in the book that I can say "OMG, I did just that..." and made me feel ashamed of myself. It's a real wonderful book and makes you appreciate your mom a lot. I love the line: "If my mother said it, I'll believe it"
