This is very sad. I watched the 60 Minutes interview with Steve Jobs' Biographer. The book will be in the stores tomorrow, Monday.
Steve Jobs' cancer was discovered by accident. He had gone in to have an exam for something completely different and during this exam, his pancreatic cancer was discovered. It was in the earliest stages.
He was encouraged to have surgery immediately but chose not to. He decided to treat it naturally and spiritually. He did this for nine months. When this did not work, he then went ahead with surgery. But by this time, the cancer had grown.
There is a possibility that if Steve Jobs had surgery when his cancer was first discovered, he might be alive and cured or in remission.

Oh i miss Steve. After watching the last video and seeing his picture i am really depressed. I didn't want to see my role model like that . He was a genius, i pray to god for his soul to rest in peace.

Even geniuses are human. And that means that they are imperfect. I have met many very talented, bright and gifted people. But that does not mean, they are nice. Sometimes just the opposite. Sometimes genius and nice do not go hand in hand.
There are some very unflattering things about Jobs in his biography. He is being called the Thomas Edison of our day. He was a genius but not always nice.
I have learned to respect the strengths of very gifted people and to accept the weaknesses.

bostonphil I watched the program too and agree it was really sad that he chose to ignore everyone's advice. After it was too late he regretted his decision. There were some unflattering things about him in the special and I wonder if that was a good thing or not, but he and his wife were ok with the total honesty, and that's who counts.
Perhaps some good will come of this sadness as it may help encourage others to seek surgery sooner rather than later..

Steve Jobs was, above all, a human being. And no one is perfect especially those who are very gifted such as Jobs.
There were some very unflattering things said about him in the book. There is more coming out. The morning talk shows are all talking about the biography.
This biography is going to be a blockbuster. And a movie is already in the works.

It seems like a waste of his potential, but it was still his life and his choice. He certainly was intelligent enough to weigh the options. And we really don't know what would have happened after the surgery.

Right, you never know with cancer. On the 60 Minutes interview, the biographer was asked "Why would such an intelligent man do such a stupid thing?" This was in reference to Jobs delaying his cancer surgery for 9 months.
