After so many criticism, our NGC bills been chosen as one of the finalist for best currency together with the new series of rupee notes from SRI Lanka. The winner thou of the award is the new series of shilling notes from Uganda. The Central Bank must be very proud because it also got an award for best security features. One of its security feature which is hard to imitate is the reflective foil that bears the image of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) logo with a parrot in the P500 bill and the South Sea pearl inside a clam in the 1,000 peso bill. After the cry of its critics to recall the new designs last December, the BSP is very triumphant in getting this award. For me, we must be really proud of all our currency not only because of its monetary value but also because it represents the values and culture that we have here.

I still haven't seen the new currency except the new 20 paper note. They say it will still be for a while before it will be as regular as the old one.

Our money represents our country that's why the design incorporated important people, things, animals and symbols. These has something to do with our history and culture.

sorry for the late response... but heres the link: http://www.lugaluda.com/new-philippine-peso-bills-star-in-currency-award/ Does the critics matters now? In the eyes of common people and of course the young generation, the new generation currencies' design is very pleasing to them. In fact, my daughter kept her Php 20.00 and wouldn't want to spend it. She was treasuring it as if it is a dollar with a higher value. My sister in law even teased her that she will replaced it with a Php 500.00, but my daughter doesn't want to replaced it.

So you see, after so much criticisms our NGC has received after their circulation, it still emerged as the one having the best security features. It's ironic is that despite our NGC receiving so much criticism for fellow Filipino, it was still chosen as one of the finalist for best currency! Hurray to the people who made possible the making of our NGC!

Actually there seems to be a limited number of this currency in circulation. Maybe those who first got it are so fascinated with it and doesnt want to use it. Maybe the criticism also make it popular and was recognized by the award given body.

At first I really don't appreciate our new bill (fear of getting a fake of it), but thinking that I had no choice but to accept it and recognize it. Even though I haven't receive a higher bill I begin to love it so that money will love me too, lol! Thanks for your post I will never knew that our bill won atleast it was proven that it cannot refurbish easily by syndicate.

I attended a BSP training regarding the currency authenticity because it is related in my work. That's the time I appreciate the designs and its feature. I've seen posters of the New Generation Currencies in banks and several financial institution, I think it would be great for everybody to take a look at it.
