I have nappy, super thick, never relaxed, and dry afro hair and I was looking for ways to make a natural homemade moisturizer. I looked up stuff on the net but I'd rather get advice from people who have tried it so I know if it's good or not.I know water and Vitamin E are good for hair so I was thinking of getting a small spray bottle and mixing it together. Would that work well? If you know of any please chip in. Thanks and it's greatly appreciated.

I have the same type of hair as you. I'm Caucasian but I have really thick, frizzy, just downright coarse hair. I break a lot of brushes! LOL I've used olive oil before, and that worked for a little bit, but the cleanup was too messy for me. I've used mayonnaise and that actually worked pretty well...Though it smelled for awhile after so I'm not sure if I'd say it was worth it. I usually just go to my local beauty supply store and by those 99 cent Last Call packets. They restore my hair to like new after about two uses. Plus since they're so cheap it's absolutely worth it.

I agree...olive oil is a great moisturizer,so as mayonnaise. You can also use coconut oil,it has been used by many to beautify their hair.

Hey you can use coconut to make moisturizer. Coconut milk works as a good moisturizer to you hair. Apply coconut milk to your hair and leave it for one hour. Then wash it with mild shampoo. Hope it will help you.

I think that a deep conditioner can give your hair moisture, shine and strength. Two good ones to use is olive oil and mayonaise. If you put it on freshly washed hair and then put a warm towel over it or set in the sun for a half an hour it will help. Use this once every week for dry hair or every two weeks or so for normal hair.

I have used an egg and a little mayo in my hair. Wet hair, then apply the solution and wait a few minutes then rinse it out, and wash it. It made my hair nice. I have not done this since I was in high school though, but I remember my hair was soft and shiny for a little while afterward. When I learned to only shampoo once instead of twice as recommended on the bottle, it helped my hair a great deal. Now I don't have to shampoo it every day thankfully. Some times I do, but I try to wash it every other day so it will not dry out.

I have tried mayonnaise and it was really good. It will make your hair shiny and soft. At first I was hesitant to try this but when I did try it, I really liked the result.
