If I could pitch my idea to a radio station, I could be famous, maybe.

I was lying in bed last night after a rather crazy evening at home, when inspiration hit me. I have said in the past that I do my best thinking at night, and last night was no exception.
I thought about pitching a radio call in show to a local radio station, just not sure which one would take it.
Radio shows never give callers a chance to voice what's on their minds, especially when they want to vent their frustrations over things. And submitting comments on posts from news sites really doesn't get their point across either.
So I was thinking about pitching an idea for a call in show so people could vent their frustrations about anything and everything, provided it was rated PG.
I'm still trying to think of a catchy name for the show, but definitely have a phone number picked out for callers.
Another side to this could be days that people would call in and say what makes them happy, like something that perhaps a politician is doing right for once, etc.
I think that if someone else had started this type of call in program, I'd be on the phone every day venting about various issues in my city, voicing concerns that many others have about different issues.
Do you think I'm going overboard with this, or is it a good idea?

I think that's an excellent idea! I agree with you, that callers never really get a voice, nor do emails. When a caller does call in, if they get air time, it's usually really brief, and sometimes that skews the point and view of what they're actually trying to get across. The 'happy' one is easy, make it only an hour and call it (name of station's) Happy Hour. (Would probably only work if calls were limited to 5 minutes or less (as we know, some people get really wordy lol.) For the other, I don't know, maybe a name with gripe or complaint in it. Gripe Group Phone Forum? City Voice? City Call-In? I'm positive you will come up with exactly the right idea though! If you're like me, as soon as you give your attentions to something else, it will just pop-up and you'll go: that's it!! I say go for it, the worst they could say is no, and if they say no, I'm sure that there will be one station along the way that would say 'yes.' It would be good publicity for the station, as well as draw in listeners.

I would love to do this ever day, you could imagine what kind of money I could make with it.
But I have to get an idea onto paper and submit it to all radio stations that I think would possibly go for it.
Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky.

I think that there is a place for that kind of show. It is just a matter of finding a station willing to air it. I don't know how you would go about suggesting it to them, but if you haven't already done so, you should probably write out some kind of proposal and hope that someone snatches it up. Have you actually done this yet or was it just wishful thinking? I hope you are able to do this some day. Have a great week!!!

I live here in Philippines, and the thing you are talking about is already being done,I think.
The program is called TALK TO PAPA.It is a program where you can tell the djs your problem and thoughts, and they will give comments or will try to solve your problem.
I don't know if I am right.Maybe the one you are talking about is different to what I am talking about.:)
But it is a very good idea.:)
